you do concede LIV is done after 2026 right?

No one is going to re invest in this thing.

I don’t see the phrase fully funded” in there anywhere.

“Decided to fund” has a pretty wide variance. Could mean they’re giving every dollar that LIV was expecting to get back in January, could mean they’re giving them enough to keep the lights on but not nearly as much as LIV was expecting, which could definitely still cause logistical problems as the season goes on

Funding LIV golf means funding LIV golf. I know it's hard, but don't be a dumbass.

Golf Digest reports that multiple LIV Golfers have begun reaching out to the PGA Tour to explore their pathways back — but conditions for such returns will come with significantly more restriction than what Brooks Koepka faced and the Patrick Reed 1-year pathway may not exist.

Additional notes:

— LIV players seeking return are expected to be grouped into categories including those who sued the Tour expected to face even more severe scrutiny.

— Sources say Bryson DeChambeau feels that LIV has “undelivered” on its initial vision

And; as expected, more confirmation from the source that money was not an issue for the 2026 New Orleans tournament and LIV is fully funded for the 2026 season.

nobody gives a shite because

quote:

“PIF has made the decision to fund LIV Golf only for the remainder of the 2026 season. The substantial investment required by LIV Golf over a longer term is no longer consistent with the current phase of PIF's investment strategy….”

“This decision has been made in light of PIF's investment priorities and current macro dynamics. The LIV Golf Board has created a committee of independent directors to evaluate strategic alternatives for its future beyond PIF's funding horizon...

This whole thing about LIV New Orleans started over whether or not PIF was ultimately pulling the plug. They just said they are, so who the frick cares if "LIV is fully funded through the 2026 season." The league is not going to be here after 2026. This entire back and forth about LIV New Orleans started solely around whether this was a sign LIV was losing its funding and ultimately going to fold. They formally lost their funding after 2026 today. And somehow you think this is cause for you to take a victory lap? You're a strange, strange man

There's three classes of LIV Players:

1. A short list of guys who would be currently exempt for the PGA Tour due to major championship wins in the exemption window.

2. Guys currently eligible for the DP World Tour. I think that's 7 players give or take a few.

3. Everyone else.

There's gonna be some kind of pathway for the class 1 guys. It may not me the Brooks road, but cooler heads tend to prevail in these situations.

The class 2 guys to go to DP.

Everyone else, which is like 95% of them, enjoy Q School and then the Korn Ferry if you get out of Q School.

You sure about that?

Yes they signed a multi year deal with them

Bruh

Yeah I pulled that from an article a year ago. Pretty obvious that the deal was made bc of the state’s $7M they paid for the LIV event
Status of it is obviously up in the air now due to the postponement/cancellation but they definitely signed a multi year deal
