Launch Monitors - Need some advice

I almost bought a launch monitor earlier this summer but wasn't sure what to buy. I was looking at the Garmin R10, Swing Caddie SC4 and the Rapsodo MLM2Pro.
I just want 2 things from a launch monitor.
1) Gap my clubs - I want to know the average carry and total distance of each club
2) Fix my attack angle - I struggle with flipping/scooping the club and wanted to try to use a monitor to help fix that.
I would use it on the range while practicing. I ended up not buying one because I couldn't tell if you could use one of these on the range, with range balls, and actually get accurate numbers using range balls.
Has anyone ever bought one of these and used it enough to offer any suggestions? I just want to use it once a month or so to check my distances mainly but it would have to be on the range using range balls because I don't have enough space to build a simulator at home.

I have the MLM2Pro, but I just bought it. It does have an impact camera view to assess your attack angle. There are tons of videos on all of these options on YouTube. The MLM2Pro appeared to be the most accurate when compared to GC3 and higher launch monitors, so I went with it.

Do you use it on the range with range balls? I thought you had to use specific balls for MLMPro2?

Range balls are typically limited flight compared to a regular ball you would play on the course. Country clubs will likely have normal balls though.
Check MyGolfSpy for reviews of all the ones you mentioned.

I have the Rhapsodo, really helped me get my yardages figured out. I’ve got probably 1k shots logged on it.

I just use it at home worth the Callaway RPT balls so far. I bought a dozen-they’re expensive.

You need those to get spin numbers, but everything else works with a range ball or regular ball.

Swing Caddie SC4 and the Rapsodo MLM2Pro.
Trying to choose between these two right now. I like what the rapsodo has to offer but the subscription aspect is a total turn off

You need the spin numbers to get accurate distance, though, right?

It probably helps, but mine seems pretty accurate without them. I take it to the range with me and the numbers seem pretty spot on.

It may be assuming some kind of average spin rate based on the club used or something. If you are close to the figure they are using, I could see it being close. It could be problematic for someone that has too much/not enough spin, especially with the longer clubs.

I was looking at the Garmin R10
Wasn't looking for a ton of details, only interested in carry distance. I borrowed my friend's R10 and used for the first time the other day. I thought it worked great (considering price) for what i was looking for. Comparing to my range finder, it was surprisingly accurate.

Swing Caddie SC4
I have the Swing Caddie. Use it for the same thing. Mostly club yardages.
The only negative I have seen in regards to the SC4 is the spin rate numbers. For whatever reason, it's reads a lot higher than others. A software upgrade is suppose to fix that. I like that it has a remote. Syncs well with my iPad. I have not used it enough to get into the nitty gritty.
Option to purchase a package (E6 Connect) and play courses like a sim.

Swing Caddie
This may be the one I end up getting. It comes with a “driving range” software built in for free right? It’s compatible with e6 but that is an extra fee am I correct?
I would mainly be using it at the range or on a practice run through the course so does it work well outside and is it quick to set up?

Garmin R10
Have had mine for 2 years now, for the price its a great deal. I use the Garmin app, Awesome golf and the E6 app with it.
I bought this one because I needed one for righty/lefty setup and I wasnt sure how much I would use it. After a few years, I use it pretty often (about 2x a week) and dont see much need to upgrade.

You are correct. No fees except for the E6 option.
Yes, Target Mode (set a distance and hit it) and Driving Range Mode.
Works well outside. I use it with my net and take it to the range.
The times I have used it, it works well. I just have not used it that much to get all the details worked out. Need to set up all my club lofts to help dial in accuracy numbers. Not necessary, but may help.
I like that you can use your remote and switch clubs. Saves all your data for each specific club you select, so after a session you can see your yardages for each club. Then you can go home and dive into the data from your session.

Which of these 3 would work best for the primary use being a backyard net and mat setup? I know these devices use different ways of capturing the data and are not always best for those setups

I have had the R10. Good unit for the price. Distance with using a RCT ball is pretty spot on. I never trusted the club data. I made the switch to a Mevo Plus. Distance were the same basically. Club data helped me out a lot. I just sold it though. My 7 and 4 year old have a bad habit of hitting the unit when it’s 8’ behind me. I will look into a camera based system that sits on the side of my when I start playing again in the spring. My golf gets shut down at the start of hunting season. All in all if you’re just wanting to figure out spin and distance the R10 will be fine. It’s not great at determining a slide or fade. The Mevo Plus is better at that. If you want to a better experience and accurate club data, Mevo Plus is in another league over the R10. You can buy a Mevo Plus with club data added for around $1100-$1300 on mevo plus groups.
