I'll be in town for July 4th and would like to play while I am in. Any good public courses up in that area of Lake Conroe?

Woodforest is an awesome course. Greens were lightning fast when I played there last time.

I could probably pull some strings and get you on at Walden.

Panorama Village is a secret around here greens are great and as fast if not faster than even the tournament course at Golf Club of Houston.

Walden on Lake Conroe is nice. Tight, with small greens and what the locals call the best par 6 in Texas the 11th hole, par 5 out over Lake Conroe.

LaTorretta is usually good and will throw tee times on golf now. Some courses will be doing some July 4th scramble events as well.

What are some northside courses worth driving up from Houston?

There’s a hidden course up there called River Plantation that is really nice. Always in good shape.

Woodforest is nice. Jog down to the Woodlands and go to Panther Trail. Clubcorp renamed it Golf Trails at the Woodlands.

Tha is everyone. I’ll look into all the options. My grandmother lives in Bentwater, but I think they are having a members only event.

It's not as fun/mind-blowing as you would think.

The golf boards are fun though.
