re: Best King Cake in Houston?

Boil House in the Heights usually has Gambino's too
On the topic of buying a new car - has anyone had any experience recently with obtaining "very well qualified" buyer status to get a favorable APR? Going to have to replace my wife's 15 year old car pretty soon. Normally wouldn't consider buying a new car, but if I can get a 1.9% rate its hard to pass up. We have excellent credit scores and above average incomes, but just wondering if that is something they flaunt and are very selective about when they give those rates out.

I started reading The Century Trilogy by Ken Follett because I saw someone suggest it on this board. I am on book 3 now, and have loved it so far.

Appreciate it. Turns out it doesn't matter anyways, the one night we are staying at the Beau there is tournament the next two days. Talk about great timing.....

Guess we will just have to sub in Shells landing. Playing the Preserve and Grand Bear for the other two rounds.

Quick question regarding Fallen Oak - say two of us are staying at the casino one night to play the course the next day. Could we book a tee time for four people, and have two people not staying at the casino play with us?

re: Trip to Cabo

Piggy backing off of this thread for some suggestions on hotel stays. Getting married in February, and we have decided to do our honeymoon in Cabo. We don't plan on doing too many excursions, mostly relaxing, drinking by the pool, spa days for the soon to be wife, and a round of golf or two for myself. Probably going to do the AI route.

Right now I am looking at options with Costco Travel. Their packages seem like a good deal, but also willing to book on my own. Their selections with ratings above 4 out of 5 stars are:
Dreams Los Cabos
Paradisus Los Cabos
Grand Fiesta Americana
Breathless Cabo San Lucas
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos
Marquis - Los Cabos
Hard Rock

Anyone have good experiences with these? Or am I better off booking on my own at another resort?

Spindletap - Houston Haze and Juiceton
Karbach - Light Circus
Buffalo Bayou - Crush City IPA

Stuck to IPA's since you mentioned Yellow Rose- hard to beat Yellow Rose though

Can Confirm this. For purely a golf trip, Horseshoe Bay was fun. We did an Unlimited Golf Package, and you can get your money's worth easily if you want to play a lot of golf. We did 5 rounds in 3 days, and their 18 hole putting course two nights. The putting course was fun for evening drinking and gambling.
Recently had Truth BBQ in Houston on Washington, and thats my favorite BBQ spot in Houston now.
The volcano menu. Used to love the volcano burrito

Not in southern burbs, but once Boil House in the Heights opens for crawfish season they sell Gambino's as well.
Hughies on Main St. is a very casual and reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurant/bar. Love their banh mi's. Good for draft beers mostly, and probably a few wines. If you're looking for cocktails, this won't be your place.
Yeah currently watching at work. Had no idea Amazon had that deal like the poster above mentioned though. Our subscription is around $70/year as well.
I split the NBC sports gold with a buddy every year. Shows featured groups when there is no TV coverage.
I refuse to play golf with one of my best friends because he cheats his arse off, and acts like a child when you call him on it. I haven't blatantly told him to his face why I am always "busy" when he asks me to play because there is no use.

I truly don't enjoy myself when we are out there together, so I'll just smile and nod when he tells me he fired off an 80 this weekend.

I've been watching some Martin Chuck videos recently. I like the way he talks about grip, hopefully it helps a little. Fast forward to around 2 min mark where he starts breaking down grip

I am in the Heights and work off Dairy Ashford exit in Energy Corridor. Not ideal locations for being able to go after work and getting some practice/ quick holes in.

For me, Riverbend and Pine Forest seem to be very good deals for what you'll get out of a membership.

Any Houston guys on here that can comment on Northgate CC courses and practice facilities? I haven't met anyone who as played the course.

I requested their membership info out of curiosity and their dues seem like a hell of a deal.
