Nothing last forever, Kaare. Did the PGA sign a lifetime commitment to NOLA for the event? if it was a moneymaker, they'd still be there. And it's not like Rolap isn't cutting ties to other locations (think Hawaii). This is all part of the redesign. I'm not a fan of the whole thing, but this tourney was never that big of a draw. Hopefully, they put a supplemental tour event there.

Oh, and Kaare is a fricking liberal fig. Screw him.

Might as well go all out next year and get multiple days of hospitality

I’m not saying he’s wrong, but Kaare Johnson isn’t going to be the first to know this.

Nothing against the tournament but has it ever been a tier 1 event? Maybe back in the 80's and before when all the top pros weren't making millions and they had to play a lot of tournaments. I've been watching since early 90's and it's always been a tournament that most of the top players skipped because of where it landed in the schedule. Doesn't mean they won't have a tournament at all just not a tier 1 signature style event. I definitely think Texas will only have 1 Tier 1 event from the 5 tournaments they have this year, probably the Colonial in Fort Worth, the Childres in Houston, Valero in San Antonio, and Byron Nelson in Dallas will probably be tier 2 and who knows what will happen with the new Austin tournament with pho outrage cancel culture fiasco about Good Good sponsorship

Jeff Duncan article didn’t say New Orleans is out it said initial bid was lower than expectations but they had a week to send in a final bid. I expect it to fall short but Zurich is a great sponsor so there is a slight chance we make the cut .
