Just watched Barstool Round at Wing Foot between Frankie vs Lurch. Intel from the super

Riggs said the super told him JT shot +2 and +3 last week. The super said no way anyone is breaking par for the Open. The wind has been picking up and told Riggs that the rough will get to 5 inches by the weekend.

I feel like we hear this a lot and someone still finds a way to go low. I’d like to see a finish with a + in front, hope we get it.

Love it. I like to see them suffer a few times a year.

How did greens keeper get all that in with Riggs doing 5 minute rambling ad reads?

My guess on the winning score is +3.

Barstool needs to keep a timer on Riggs’ rounds. There’s no way he and his group can play in under 5 hours.

If DJ shoots -6...he will run away for the title.

Can I get a primer on Barstool golf content? I don't want to hijack a thread and can start a different one. I've tried a couple of times, I just can't get into their content, which is weird bc it seems very similar to NLU

I feel like I'm in the same exact boat. I've tried Foreplay, but I've never been able to get into it at all. It just feels very amateurish. I also feel like NLU gets a bit old with their negativity about everything on tour, but I still think they do a good job.

I’m not a Barstool fan. Only reason why I watched the video because they were playing Wingfoot. I’m trying to figure how Riggs can afford to stay at Pinehurst and play during the COVID Quarantine.
I love NLU, and the negativity is warranted on the CBS coverage of the PGA.

It was an “agreement” between pinehurst and barstool/Riggs. He would basically stay there for free and Riggs would provide free content for pinehurst. All a marketing plan that worked out very well for Pinehurst.
I’m sure it started as a strategic marketing plan but after 99 days, I’m also sure there is a clear friendship between Riggs and the Pinehurst team.

Well, that makes sense. Great deal for both.

Their only good content is when they play with Kisner and he just rips into them for the entire round.

Barstool= shallow fanboyish PGA tour content that only really focuses on what is trending on tour, Tiger/Phil/Bryson/etc, majors/major tournaments, ryder+president cups, and whoever gives them time (Kisner). Located in NYC so they have a good relationship with the USGA which they use to use the US Open for content but unfortunately don't do anything to cover amateur/womens USGA golf, or the Euro Tour. Riggs is the ringleader of the group and was a college hockey player at Harvard, not a serious golfer. He basically stumbled into golf content at Barstool after being hired as a political blogger. Two other casual golfers Frankie and Trent (maybe the only two other people in the company who played golf at the time) created the ForePlay pod with Riggs. Once it was formed they basically rode the Barstool/PMT explosion wave to access and content. I would say that 95% of the entertainment value of their content comes from the people and places they have access to and 5% from their golf knowledge and personalities.
NLU= A bit deeper and more polished from a production front- more interested in the game as a whole and not as a purely pro product, though they do weekly pods after each tourney on Sundays. Their youtube content covers budget golf/golf architecture/golf destinations/some country club content. They put much more effort towards promoting amateur and women's golf, along with the 'woke golf' online community. (distance is bad, bifurcation needs to happen, pga tour players and their equipment have ruined the game). These guys are more plugged into the golf world- it is obviously their passion as opposed to the Barstool guys. Sometimes it comes off as pretentious but the effort is there at least.
