I think golf digest and golf advisor have CCL best course in state as far as layout

Arguably, you could say it isn't better than other courses and that it is all opinion. But, it is my favorite overall experience. It seems like everything is in the right place there. From the time you get out of your car. All the members there have always been very nice to me as an outsider/nobody when there. It is always a 2.5 - 3.5 hour stress free round (unless greens are rolling 14).

LSU from the tips.
81 - 41/40
Only one birdie.

Greens are ok. Roll a bit slower than SM and Greystone, but you can stick an iron close with little roll out.
Some fairways are great. Some are shitty.

Played Webble Beach for the first time since Feburary. All but a few greens look pretty damn good they just need to cut them. I was able to mash the ball without rolling it more than 3 feet past.

42 on the front
38 on the back
35 on the back second time around

6/20/19

Shot 70 at LSU. Everything was clicking except for chipping, could've beat my personal best.

La Cantera resort course today. The course is in great shape and the greens are firm and fast. I shot 78 with 3 birdies and 2 doubles. My irons and short game were on. My driver...not so much. I only hit 2 fairways.

Frustrating.

Played Greystone yesterday and playing Saturday/Sunday.

Greens making a good comeback but damn the fairways are scalped. Let’s some grass grow and get plush. Jeez

I don’t think you know what a tight lie is tbh. The fairways are great. Any longer and you start getting flyers. The ball sits perfectly and the ground gives for a perfect divot. This complaint is out of nowhere.

ETA: you’d love Zoysia

They’re only cut once a week. Most good players love them like this. The grass length is fine and the ground isn’t hard. If anything is tighter than “normal” it’s simply due to cart traffic. This is seriously one of the oddest complaints ive seen for the course.

Probably the issue... only cut once so they cut too low vs cutting 3 times a week.

Mmmmm Zoysia

100% chance you’d still think they were too low regardless of the day.

That was my point. The ball sits up on those spikes like the ball is on a tee. ApparentlyC it’s the only type of grass that would satisfy him.

Prednisone has me pain free for now but such a fat bastard because of it - frick arthritis

86
77
78
83
85

Various courses from Squire to English Turn
Ball striking average but up and downs and putting have been above average

The high score includes a quad at Calvert because I played to the wrong damn green - what an idiot I was

Also - new clubs to fit my old arthritic self

Also - I no longer play tips - these are from men’s tees - I will no longer play tips... too much on the old body - I can’t do that anymore.

I may play in MA qualifier - trying to decide on course - if putting and chipping stay hot, may be squire....but I have a better chance against the younger guys at GreyStone. Have not played GS in a couple months - hope greens are back.

Will probably play net at English just cause I will be In NO for a conference - and I still like the course - as long as that cheater does not sign up
