He played the best golf of all time. That's not even debatable. Pretty great in the booth as well!

Please note that I upvoted Themailman. Johnny is the man. He kissed everyone off by telling the truth. The best part is, he could back it up with his play back in the day.

He's not among the worst in my mind. Nor is he the GOAT. He was one of a kind. That's for sure.

I actually loved his commentary, but I can see where he rubbed people the wrong way.

Hell of a song about Johnny written & performed by Jake & his crew. Johnny liked it.

Peter Aliss is the best in my opinion. There have been some really good ones...Miller certainly...Venturi as well

Eta: In my "ultimate foursome" (of none family) ..i would have Peter Aliss. The stories, i think would be incredible. To me his coverage is both British "proper" and light hearted. I remember an interview with him about differences in his "time" and today and he commemted on profanity. How it's so accepted now and unnecessary (he brought up gordon ramsey as an exmple)

I think Sir Nick and Venturi are/were better. Johnny gave zero fricks though and called it as it is which was humorous at times.
