I know it’s the slow time of the year for golf, but some of us crazies are still getting out there. Practice hard and get ready for the spring. Hopefully, it will not be a deluge like the last 2 years.

Happy New Year!

80 at Pelican Point today. I would say it should have been lower, but I drained 4 15-20 foot putts, so...

The Bluffs on Wednesday. Wet and soggy made the course play really long. First real round in months, so I was just shaking the cobwebs off.

Play almost year-round in Orlandeaux. Shot 86 (terrible) at Eagle Creek here in O-town. Hoping for much better in League play this Saturday.

Shot 85 at the Bluffs. 1st time playing there in 6 years. I knew the place had gone to shite and heard recently its been trending in the right direction so I wanted to check it out.

If it's in much better shape than it has been for the last few years like people are saying...wow.

Besides the greens rolling really well and fast, the rest of the course was in really bad shape. Tee boxes were atrocious, fairways were okay for this time of year, mostly covered in patches of poa, most bunkers were completely neglected. Same to anywhere that isn't the fairway or green.

ETA: I just looked at old pictures of the course and compared them so some similar pics now and HOLY shite how the mighty has fallen. That put some serious perspective into it.

Exactly how I described it. Lol.

At one point the fourth green was 90% sand.

Played Pelican Point Links yesterday. It was super soggy from the rain on Saturday, but I just wanted to swing the sticks. Shot 83 with 2 triple bogeys (both brought on by terrible shots from wet sand). Greens rolled nice though.

Is there anything worse than carts on path though? I'm a walker by nature, so it just bugs me to be forced to ride in the first place. But carts on path just brings that to a whole new level. I want to have my whole bag with me for every shot. It really gets me out of my routine.

New greens are rolling nicely. The course plays easy while it's dormant as the rough is the primary defense.

Is that the golf club outing Jacob puts together for the Thibodeaux area group?

I don't know about the rest of you baws but I've got the itch with no way to scratch it. We've gotten so much rain up here the last week that there's no ranges or courses open to play. Wish we had an indoor facility over here.

My wife surprised me with a late Christmas present that just came in yesterday: Ping G410 Driver Stiff

Just ready to break this thing in.
