Not that it matters, but I just can’t get behind LIV. Haven’t watched an event yet and I doubt that changes unless the PGA Tour completely collapsed.

Mingo will be here soon to berate you for enjoying the PGA Tour as it was before LIV existed and not wanting to tune into a YouTube stream to watch a hit and giggle on a Nickelodeon broadcast.

Unfortunately I believe the PGA is done. LIV will lose US fans and growth of the game here will slow to a halt.

What? I don’t think any of this helped the game but the PGA will be fine. They’ve lost some good players but none that will alter the true success imo. I honestly doubt LIV gets OWGR points (that will not happen imo) and LIV will be in purgatory. Again i don’t think this was good for the game currently but the PGA will be fine.

They just lost the current players and Open Champion and the #2 ranked player in the world

I hate LIV. But it’s time we can all admit that they have pulled a solid group of players.

The PGA Tour is worse off without Cam Smith, DJ, Bryson, Koepka, Phil, Gooch, Niemann, Reed, Ancer, Bubba, Wolff… Pereira and Young rumored.

Most of these guys are far from finished competing at the highest levels of golf.

The Tour is in great shape.

Plenty of next superstars on the KF Tour coming up.

It’s the marketability of those players that will make the PGA suffer. Building a brand and gaining sponsorship is what the current LIV players all did very well while being at their peak when social media was taking off. The up and coming guys have a hill to climb to grasp the following the LIV players did.

Agreed. But again, will it truly alter the success of the tour cause they lost Cam, DJ, Koepka, BC? No. Especially if they don’t get OWGR which i doubt they do. The PGA will be absolutely fine.

I doubt it. The good events will still be good. But the bad events are going to be really bad and continue to get worse. Which, to me may be a net positive in the end. We don't need 50 tournaments a year.

I wouldn't say that just yet. They just came up with a shite ton of money in a matter a weeks. That bills going to come due at some point. Either they were holding out money, or they have to figure out a way to raise a couple hundred million dollars.

Quote from Cam Young today. Monohan better be kissing the ring of Tiger and Rory for getting that meeting together last week. I wonder how many players it saved

That meeting wasn’t where this extra money and elevated events came from. He has been trying to get money for that. The only thing the meeting got was top 20 players playing 20 events which was instructed by Jay and the tech indoor golf.

It’s been months maybe years of him trying to get this money. All non profit funds are shown on public tax returns so there was no hidden money.

That's not what anyone in golf media, who talked to people in the room, or otherwise have said, but BallChamp, who fights the geriatrics for worst takes knows better than them.

DJ was suspended multiple times for drug use. Bubba is getting old and rarely in contention. Brooks is always hurt and is the least marketable guy you mentioned. Gooch couldn’t be picked out a lineup by half the people in this thread maybe more. Bryson has already missed a ton of events for being hurt which is what was thought of when he started this speed training. Ancer? Lol. Wolff has shot more 80s than 60s this season.

The PGATour is just fine and didn’t lose a lot.

Now I know you’re an altar. Honestly you remind me of a worse Lester Earl.

Nobody in that room said a word about any of it.

In fact Shitnuck said it was a tour inside the tour. But it isn’t at all. It was only the top 20 players being committed to playing the top 20 events.

Also Mingo I’m still awaiting you to take my bet. Any amount you want 18 holes stroke play. I’ll get us comped anywhere you want within reason. I’ll be polishing my swing at the PNC this week.
