Yeah, he's totally over rated. They probably should just stop talking about him altogether.
You left off that he finished 2nd at the masters

In terms of young players, I think he gets a little bit too much hype.
Tom Kim and Ashkay Bhatia are both 3 years younger and are arguably better than Aberg.

OWGR is a joke

I’ve said it before and gotten downvoted into oblivion but he can’t stop hitting it left under pressure. 11 at Augusta, US Open. He did it again at the Torrey last week

I think aberg is going to be really good. His swing is very simple and powerful which travels. He’s already performed well in majors and was really good in his first Ryder cup (2-2-0) against some powerhouses from the US. He and hovland boat raced Scottie and Brooks 9&7.
This seems like a reactionary thread to him being sick and playing like shite at Torrey and pebble.

There’s an argument for Joaquin Niemann (26) being just as good or better than Aberg (25), but Aberg is propped up by the PGA Tour & OWGR
This is why people have a hard time taking your LIV thoughts seriously

He also was sick as shite last week into this week. Personally, I think he’s going to win the Genesis at Torrey if he gets healthy.

I mean yea.. it’s exacerbated the problem and of course I’m not posting this thread if he is winning these events.

He was also playing injured much of last year. He just turned pro in 23 and getting his feet wet.

If you look at it objectively, it’s not that absurd. Guess we’ll see what 2025 looks for them.
Looks like Niemann is about to get his first win of the year in India

I think the 6th OWGR kind of proves that he is overrated. I think he got up to 4th at one point. Ludvig Aberg is not one of the six best golfers on the planet, no matter how impressed you want to be with that one win.

Just 9 shots short of getting that win.
Why even post that with 36 holes to play?

Yeah a 77 in round 3 will do that.

That's kinda my point. A lot can happen with 2 rounds left to play and only a 2 shot lead. Does him shooting a 77 on the weekend help the point you've been trying to make ITT?

I believe a lot of his fame came from the Ryder Cup.
Posted on 2/3/25 at 12:53 pm to PhiTiger1764
Calling him a generational talent is absurd. His hype does not match his play.

hell of a putt by McNealy on 17 to try to hold him off.

I’m watching. Dude gets treated like he is scheffler with sportsbooks. Decent bit of golf left though.
