Is getting a morning tee time at Greystone pretty much impossible unless you’re a member?

I called Saturday and was told tee times could only be booked one week in advance, so I should call Sunday. When I called Sunday, they said non-members could only book three days in advance. I called Monday, but they were closed. Then I called this morning and was told non-members can only book two days in advance, and they’re already booked until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
So it seems like my only chance is hoping a Thursday morning tee time is still available, but the problem is that I have to work.

Saturday mornings are tough even for members. Looking at it now, first open spot is 12:24. Fridays are just as bad.

A large group of members have standing tee times Friday-Sunday. So yes, it’s very difficult for non-members. Membership has also been steadily increasing as the neighborhood grows, conditions improve, better bar and grill experience, etc. Then there’s the rumor of going totally private “soon.”
Membership is cheap. A single plan with range and cart is only $400/month with no initiation. 5 rounds pays for itself.

Hmmm....that would actually be a huge negative for me if I was thinking about joining. If I pretty much have no opportunity to get a morning tee time on the weekends, what's the point?

If the membership keeps growing, that standing tee time policy may have to disappear.

Yeah, I would have to know that in advance. I love golf, dont get me wrong, but getting a round in and then still being able to do stuff the rest of the day afterwards is a must.

There are standing times that almost always have flexible groups. It’s rarely the same 5 guys/tee times. Some groups are 3-4 tee times back to back and anywhere from 12-20 guys show up. The current membership doesn’t seem to have a problem since so many can get on with multiple groups. All new members really have to do is introduce themselves to a few guys and they’re in.

It doesn’t bother me much, except that I can’t play with family or friends. If I want to play early, I have to show up and play with whoever else is there.
The thing that bothers me is when people have standing tee times, or regular, then don’t cancel them if they know they won’t be there. We should charge for member no-shows.

You don’t have to be a range-only member or have a tee times to hit balls. They’re sold at $10/bag I think.

Good thing I was into golf 10 years ago and well before the Covid boom. Never once had to worry about getting a tee time. I haven’t played since 2021.
