I think I had my worst blow up hole in 25 years of playing today

495 par five #18. Drive goes dead center, hits the hill, leaves me about 185 from the island green. Grab the 6 iron, stick it on the green on the far left side, but pin is on the right side. Putting for eagle. Putter has been on all day, nothing more than 2 putts.

Eagle misses

Birdie misses

Par misses

Bogie misses. It hits me at this point that I'm in jeopardy of losing money on this hole to the guy who scored an 8 because he went in the drink twice.

Double bogie misses

Triple bogie drops in. I push the hole by six putting. I threw the ball. I threw my putter. It's the biggest choke job I've ever had.

Reporter: "I Notice you have a new putter this week. Would you share with us why?"

PGA tour golfer: "The old one would not float."

Everything you just described is golf.

That’s the game man.

For example, yesterday I birdied the 16th hole.

I’m pumped on 17 tee box. I snap hook my drive into some British Open type shite, find the ball and try to punch out, grass grabs the hosel and the ball goes 4 feet and then I lose the ball and can’t find it.

So I went from a birdie to an 8 just like that.

And that’s golf.

The whole game has nothing to do with your good shots, it’s all about the miss.

It’s a game of misses.

I was playing in a high school match and the last hole was a par 3 on a little peninsula next to a lake with the clubhouse looking out over it. I had the first couple groups and that coaches out watching us from the balcony. I hit an iron up there perfect and it hits the pin about 3 inches above the grass and flies into the lake like a dart. I ended up hitting two more in the water, fricked off and ended with a 10 or an 11 on the hole.

I was playing in the Webb open.

Drove #7 middle left about 280 under the oak tree near the fairway.
Hooked a hybrid and lost it under the leaves.
Re-hit from the previous spot with the same club I just hooked down to about 40 yards.
Smoked my lob wedge into the street, watching it bounce down the road.
Dropped another and hit it on the green and then 3 putted.

From 3 over to 8 over in one hole.

Sort of a hijack but I know you lift/did workout. How do you manage your workouts around golf? Do you golf on days you don’t lift? I hate trying to play after doing a regular lift earlier in the day.

It is tough, because your swing will change based on your muscle mass. If you don’t keep swinging clubs as you continue to lift, you will return to a swing that isn’t the same as before and it’ll be tough to adjust,

My game has suffered the last few years, and it’s not just solely the fault of lifting, Playing a round now, especially if you don’t live on a course, has become a 6+ hour commitment and I don’t have that time these days due to kids. I’ll lift at lunch but I can’t hit the range at lunch,

Yeah sometimes I can do both but I know I am stiff. Friday I tried to go to the range a couple hours after hitting chest and triceps. I quit after 10 swings. Everything went right and arms felt like jelly.
