And you comment is absolutely utterly fricking retarded

99.9% of D1 girls golfers weren’t playing pro tournaments at 15 years old, not even close

To say you aren’t high level at 15 as a girl unless you are already playing majors is just comptely idiotic

you should be up front and respectful to the coach/AD that high school team isn’t your avenue of practice, instruction or competition. You will play when the schedule works and play the tournaments that matter for state

If you really feel this way then you shouldn’t be on the school team. Go play am tour events or something

If thats how the coach and team feels that’s fine and it’s not a big deal at all

But I would bet most pros and D1 golfers did play for the high school team, but weren’t missing their actual sessions with their real coach or missing events to make their high school practice or tournaments…..

I have incredible knowledge on how most elite juniors treat both high school golf and tennis

And she hasn’t played a us open yet either so she might as well give up all hope of college right?

The volunteer coach, probably a 20 handicap making a $1500 stipend, may have given some poor advice. That’s no reason to go scorched earth. If you want to avoid that in the future, pull her from the team and only play individual junior events. It’s pretty simple.

I think he is fine. We are all too heated when it comes to our kids He is venting here instead of doing something rash and going to the AD or coach in anger

Im sure people love the guy who is the ever so positive Mr sunshine that thinks anyone not playing Us opens at 15 is a bum

For fun, go tell me how many LSU women’s golfers played a major before lsu period, much less at 15…..

I’ll save you the time, it’s Zero….And you know why, because that’s not common even for high level female golfers

Good Lord man, dont be that guy. She screwed up and didnt hit the 9 wood well and it cost her. The shot selection wasnt the issue, it was the execution.

Its easy to blame others, but she swung the 9 wood. Is she capable of hitting the 9 wood like the coach suggested? If so, then the fault lies with her and not the coach.

AJGA is the upper level of Jr golf in the world. Just go look at results and see how many girls are from China and South Korea.

To prove Pride’s point about HS golf, last year in Ohio a player named Jodie Han skipped the first day of the State Torunament to play in an AJGA All Star event in Louisiana. Her team was allowed a Sub for day 1. Jodie played on day 2 and shot a 69. They came in 3rd but if she had played that well on day 1 they would have won.

Not majors but quite a few played in pro tournaments

Raegan Denton: Yes. She competed in professional events in Australia before enrolling, including the 2026 Women’s Australian Open (WPGA/LET co-sanctioned; missed cut but had a hole-in-one) and the 2026 WPGA Championship

Francesca Fiorellini: Yes. She played multiple Ladies European Tour (LET) events as an amateur before college (UCLA then LSU), including the Ladies Italian Open.

Victoria Kristensen: Yes. She recorded two top-10 finishes in LET Access Series events before college and competed in other pro-adjacent events while remaining an amateur.

Rocío Tejedo: Yes. At age 15 (2022), she received an invitation and competed in the Comunidad de Madrid Ladies Open on the LET.

She didn’t hit it well because the lie dictated that you needed loft to overcome the rough. That’s why she told, the coach her plan was to hit an 8 iron. Because he is a terrible golfer he did not understand that. Instead of trusting my kid and her golf knowledge he pressed her to play a shot that was the wrong play. BTW the team missed by 10 shots. He helped a girl on the first hole from tee to green and she took an 8. I later saw him with our #3 player go all,the way down a par 5 with her. She took an 11 on that hole. The data points to him being a moron. These girls are not that bad.

Its hard to hit a wood in the deep rough I'll give you that. I wouldnt complain about the coach, i'd use this a teachable moment to build confidence in your daughters own gut feelings on the course. She knows her game better than anyone. If 8 was the play, then teach her to politely decline the coaching advice and make sure she isnt scared of refuting her coach
