I was at SanDestin when they were trying to start a private club for homeowners. Burnt Pine was supposed to be their private course.
We had use of a bass boat, a 24ft SeaRay, a condo on Holiday Isle, all from home owners. Then we played free golf from Pensacola to Panama City.
And we would go home and eat peanut butter crackers 'because we were making $25K /year.

I worked as a cart boy at a nice resort /member course as a 19 year old.
Came home with $85 to $200 everyday in 1 dollar bills. Was always prepped to hit the gentlemen's club.
Only job I have been fired from. Bunch of the 25 year old wanna be pros didn't like me dipping in to their cut and pressured the asst pro to get rid of me.
Got fired for "having my shirt untucked in the back." No joke.
Made me dislike golf people for a while.

We had a beverage cart girl who wanted to run carts for tournaments. She would walk out and meet the players cars in the parking lot, then ride back out with a wet towel and wipe the clubs down.
She never actually lifted a bag and made $4-$5 hundred every tournament day . Fortunately she split it with all of us

Being a cart boy in college was how I could afford to play golf at the time....free golf at that and got paid a little drinking money to boot. Good times.

Worked as a cart boy at Eastover before Katrina. Was an awesome job with all the tournaments and free golf.

Fairways are the best. 6 to 12. 2 to 8. 4 to 10. 3 to 9 ain’t so much fun. But you gotta be straight or it looks like crap.

Worked maintenance and construction in quite a few places. Wyoming, Arizona, Montana, Miss, Texas, LA. Would never work maintenance where course isn't closed in winter again. That winter break is nice. Moving dirt is fun but construction is just too much work and no time off.

Worked at one for 3 years in college.
Killed a good portion of #3 green when a hydraulic hose busted at 4am while I was cutting before a tournament
Put too much blue dye in the sprayer and painted a lot of stuff blue
Had the crazy alcoholic cart washer threaten to kill me with a screwdriver for unknown reasons

Checking in. Worked at Bayou Desiard CC in Monroe, LA with the grounds crew for a couple of Summers while I was in college in the early 90’s. I made shite for money but every afternoon I was playing golf for free. I am sure the crew working the club got much better perks than we did (especially these days from what I have heard) but we had a blast. It was damn near Caddyshack.
