Hopefully the LIV/PGA split didn’t kill the Zurich Classic in New Orleans

We may not see a golfer anyone has heard of at the tournament this year. Bummer for all the charities involved and the people that love the tournament and put it together.
Zurich is sandwiched between 2 majors and 2 announced elevated tournaments, (Masters, RBC Heritage, Wells Fargo, PGA Championship) so most of the players required to play in those I’m guessing will rest a week in between those 4 instead of playing 5 in a row. That rest week is the Zurich weekend.
I’m just depressed and I really hope I’m wrong. Tournament week and the week leading up to it has been my favorite time of the year for 5 years now.

PGA Tour in NO is over unless Zurich will go to the fall rotation.

Really sucks with the great strength of field with the innovative format. Honestly a fall tournament would be great too.

But I thought team events were the future of golf?

Yeah, people are gonna skip out on the LSU and Saints games to go to the Zurich instead.
I guess Morikawa, Horschel and Rose will be the big names there. Sam Burns will probably show as well (has played with Billy Ho the last couple years).
Zach Johnson should strongly encourage some of these guys to play it as prep for Ryder Cup partnerships. The big names still have to pick 3 other tournaments to play outside of the majors and elevated events.

Fall tournament would be more enjoyable weather wise.

Zurich will be fine.
Small % of PGA guys get invited to play in Masters.
plus guys who miss the cut won’t mind playing 3-4 weeks in a row.
Take a week off for Mexico Open on 4/27

Did Xander and Cantlay say they aren’t coming back?
