Strikes me as the kind of person who will not have enough money on him to pay his losses.

Applied the advice today with much better results. Got the ball airborne with a cut. Still over swinging I think, but much better. Thanks

Choke up and swing it like a 4 iron traping the ball and creating a shallow divot. Get it out of your head that you’re swinging a wood.

I honestly do this for driver off the deck as well, and it's been great for me so far.

I’m the rough with a good lie, it’s not a bad idea.

Just my opinion. I know a guy who tries it often. He's a good golfer too. It never goes as far as his 3 wood would have and slices almost every time.

Dude, you're not gonna hit your driver 270 off the deck because you can occasionally do it off the tee.

Hey if it works for you, knock yourself out.

Just depends on who you are. I love it and honestly haven't mishit it the last 25 times or so I've done it (jinx incoming), and probably take it 20 yards further than my 3 wood off the deck (265ish vs. 245ish), but I know a ton of golfers who are much better than me and can't hit it at all.

If you want a low line drive runner driver is the play. I’ve seen a good bit of people do it more frequently than I would for sure.

oh and for the record there is nothing wrong with taking a divot on a three wood.

I have the opposite problem. 3-wood off the deck is my best shot. Sucks because I only get to hit it a couple times per round.

Sweep the grass is my thought on this shot, the club does the rest.

Everyone is different and the whole hitting it like an iron thing never works for me with a fairway wood. When I do that I get steep come over the top and hit pulls or cast it fat. What works for me is a feeling of sweeping the ball but doing so while keeping my hands ahead of the club. As long as I keep my hands ahead of the club through impact I will naturally hit down on the ball. Any feeling of hitting down on the ball for me leads to casting. YMMV.
