What's your secret. I chunked about 3 green side chips on Saturday due to really wet area.

Stand closer to the ball and have the club more upright where only the toe is touching the ground. Hit it like a putt. There’s less club to stick in the mud and cause that chunk like that. Works for me

this works on green side tight lies as well. helps with the heel not sticking in the ground and using the bounce

Any decel and you’re going to chunk it.

Commit as said prior and out your weight on the front foot. Helps with a descending blow.

It’s been really wet here in Nashville. I’ve been using wedge and 9iron a lot more because if it. Keep the heel off the ground and stroke like a putt. Less backswing and less to go wrong.

If I’m close enough to putt, I putt.
Putt with hybrid or 5wood is an option since the flat, fat bottom won’t dig.
If I have to chip, I stand closer, grip down, and brush grass.

I prefer chipping when wet. Easier to grip the ball with the wedge. I’m much more likely to blade a chip off of a tight dry lie.

Put about 75% of your weight on your front foot.

Use a less lofted club if possible
