What is BDCC?

Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe. Great course. Not super difficult but not a pushover either. Usually in great shape. Cool holes along the bayou. It is private but usually you can get on if you make some calls.

Don’t sleep on Dancing Rabbit.

We have gone to Old Waverly since 2015 when LSU football plays at MS State. It’s wonderful but as of late they jack up the rates to stay and play when LSU comes to town. It was over $200 to play OW and MO last season.

Looking for a spot for 12 guys close to BR, don't mind an 4-6 hour drive. Any new ideas?

Looking at the same for 8 guys in early-mid November. Last trip we did was in the Houston/Humble area and had a great trip and thought of possibly doing that again but hitting different courses.

Probably 2 night stay, maybe 4 rounds. Thinking 1 Friday, 2 Saturday, 1 Sunday before heading home. I've been considering the Gulf Shores area too though, any board opinions courses in this area? I saw Craft Farms does some group packages with several other courses in the area, but haven't spoken to them about what all they offer yet.

Any input is appreciated!
Craft Farms (2) courses, Cypress Bend & Cotton Creek
Peninsula
Kiva Dunes
Lost Key
One Golf Club
Rock Creek
Glenlakes

Go to Fort Morgan and play Kiva Dunes and Peninsula. Peninsula has 2 courses. Rent a house on the beach and have a ball Tacky Jacks and Sassy Bass are good restaurant’s and bars plus a new place opened nearby getting great reviews.

I've played Kiva & Peninsula but it has been 5-6 years, and it was in the first year I started playing golf so I was just hacking and had no business being on a course that nice lol. So while I like playing new courses I also still would like to play these again now that I've gotten better and can appreciate a nice course even more so now.

The North LA golf trip is nice.

You could play BDCC in Monroe, Squire in Choudrant, mystic creek in eldorado, and then pop over to Shreveport for Southern trace or east ridge. If you can get on those it’s a nice trip.

Grand National (RTJ trail) to Capital Hill (RTJ trail) to Cambrian Ridge (RTJ trail) then back home.

That's a good trip, did that twice.

A buddy of mine took a 12 on a hole at Cambrian.. we still laugh about it.

Go here if you want to have nothing to do besides golf and eat club sandwiches for 3 days in a row. You can tell the place used to be a great spot but there's nothing anywhere near the course and nothing to do on the grounds besides golf.

Our group went a couple years ago. We had a good time and made the best of it, but ended up eating pizza in the parking lot one evening. Plenty other better options out there.

This would be a really cool trip, but even if you get on most clubs make the unaccompanied guest fees extremely high. My wish list for a trip within a 6 hour drive of BR....

T1. Capitol Hill (RTJ Trail)
T1. Old Waverly/Mossy Oak
3. Gulf Shores (Kiva, Peninsula, Craft Farms)
4. Magnolia Grove (RTJ Trail)
5. Lake Charles (CCGN, Contraband, Koasati)
6. Dancing Rabbit

Mystic creek has a 198 stay and play package for 2 nites and 2 rounds of golf. You stay at the Haywood which is hotel owned by Murphey Oil and is nice place its like 4 yrs old and its place where all Murphey vendors stay when in town...green fees for Mystic creek are $170 so your getting a great deal on the package. Golf is better than anything in any 4-6 hrs from BR.

The Mystic Creek/Haywood package is worth a look. We played back in March and were humbled by the greens. Many 4-putts and holes lost to bogeys was very common.
