Anybody know the best golf course situation? Used to be a member of UC before I moved. Back in town and trying to gauge my options. Need a good driving range and practice facility.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Baton Rouge or somewhere else?

Not a lot of options "in town" outside of UC, SM, CCL, BRCC.
The Island, Pelican, Greystone all have ranges and a "practice facility" but are a bit of a drive. Nothing terrible.

No need to be a jerkoff. He could be in Prairieville, Zachary, Denham, etc.

BRCC is the only real choice

Depending on where you live BRCC, CCL, UC for best options. If you want the best bang for your buck then the BREC card and make the drive to Beaver or SM.

It's really sad how bad Louisiana is when it comes to public golf. I can't think of a worse state in the southeast for public golf. I mean, MAYBE Arkansas but thats the only one that comes close.

Is that the annual pass? Looking into that myself and appears you'd only save money if you play more than once a week. Wondering if I'm missing something in the benefits.
Breakdown of costs I pulled together is below.
Passes don't include cart fees but they give you a bucket of balls per round so sort of cancels that out.
Santa Maria is $49 to walk 18 (Fri-Sun rate)
3 month pass is $650 = ~14 rounds (5 per month)
6 month pass is $1050 = ~22 rounds (4 per month)
12 month pass is $1900 = ~39 rounds (3 per month)
Cart only pass is $800 for 70 rentals. If cart is $15 per round then it would take 54 rentals to recoup the cost.

Thanks for your input. You really helped the OP with that. Congrats!

Save your butt slap pal, I don't need it.

I think I had it figured at 4x/mo you would save money based on paying directly(this was not figuring in range balls and the discount on merchandise and F&B). I haven’t ran the numbers in last few years as I haven’t been able to play as much.

Louisiana is not even in the same stratosphere as Arkansas for public golf. Or private for that matter. LA is by far the worst, and you're right, it's pretty sad.

Louisiana > Alaska
I'll agree with 49th, not 50th.
50th if you count DC I guess

Not sure if it’s in your driving range but you can get a golf only membership at Cypress Lakes (Ormond) in Destrehan for $190 per month and if you want to add a cart plan it’s $65 extra per month. Unlimited Driving Range access is $160 annual, not sure how much a bucket is.

U club then if these are priorities. Have the practice holes as well. BRCC driving range is nice but also kind of sucks as it is only like 270 yards and then you are hitting into people on the other end of the range. CCL is a little better but you still have to hit driver out to the right so you don’t smoke the private lessons shack area at about 280-290.

Wouldn’t be a problem for me.

Not sure why anyone would actually want to join that place - especially if you have to drive to get there

Guess you haven't played there recently. I would agree with not driving a long distance but for someone within 20-30 miles the cost of the membership there for what your getting is a great deal.
