Loved him.
Golf use to have some great characters. Fuzzy was legendary for betting and chasing the ladies.
Now it seems like they are all clones.

I had 2 interactions with Fuzzy. I played in The Fedex St Jude pro-am a few times One year a guy I played with was trying to get autographs for his son. He asked a very drunk Fuzzy for an autograph, and Fuzzy said, "frick you and your son.". The guy walked away. A few minutes later Fuzzy showed up at our table to apologize, and offered to sign for the guy. He no longer wanted the autograph. Fuzzy reached in his pocket, grabbed a $100 bill, dropped it on the table, and said, "Drinks are on me." Well, it was a pro-am and drinks were on Fedex. We gave the money to our server.
I met him 20 years later in The Villages. He and Peter Jacobsen were promoting their vodka at Nancy Lopez's charity tournament at our Lopez Legacy course. He didn't look good, but he was very nice to everyone.

Masters tribute to Fuzzy
No way they put that together on Thanksgiving. He must have been sick for a while.

I had the opportunity to meet him at an exhibition match he played to open Le Triomphe in Lafayette.
He was very nice to everybody but he was also enjoying a drink or two.
RIP Fuzzy
P.S. It was quite a day…Andy Bean, Fred Couples, Lanny Watkins and Jan Stephenson were also there.

Most folks are too young to remember KMart, Fuzzy was their golf line cover boy.
Until the day after the Tiger debacle, no telling how much money that 5 seconds cost him.

No one gives a shite about his comments, not even Tiger.

He and John Daly have a grand slam between them.

Are they going to serve fried chicken and collard greens at the wake?

Plenty of people did. He himself admitted the backlash that carried over the rest of his life that it was the worst thing that ever happened to him. He made some racists comments and it haunted him the rest of his life. FAFO. I mean in the ESPN article they talk more about that than his career accomplishments.

I went to ‘98 Masters Tuesday practice round. We followed Fuzzy, Lumpy, and Daly for several holes. On 14, Daly hit his drive 300 yards off the tab of a Diet Coke can.
As Fuzzy left the box to head down the roped off area leading to fairway, Tom Kite got to the box. He hollered at Fuzzy, who turned around and cam back to shake his hand. With only me and a friend standing there next to them, Kite said, “I thought you’d be playing with Tiger today.”
Fuzzy replied, “My people called his people and he said he was playing with friends, so I guess he’ll be playing by himself.” My friend and I looked at each other with mouths wide open. LOL
Tiger later played with O’Meara and graciously took pics with me.
