Y'all are out of your minds. This shite is absurd, did y'all hear Azinger nut in his britches when Woodland hit the 3 wood into 14? Saying players only hit a handful of 3 wood shots that good in their career and compared it to hitting a 1 iron?? Yea it was a good shot at a great time but come the frick on a 255 yard 3 wood being a career shot? It's like they think they have to make every shot a " In your life " call... Oh and frick Joe Buck
He can hit 3w 300 yards. Hardly anyone went for that green today. Why do you think that is? That was a ballsy shot

Oh yeah, after he had been getting a little squirrelly too. So, yes, that shot was pretty fricking impressive
Eta: it was 263 uphill by the way.
255 to carry bunker by the way. I'm not disagreeing that it wasnt an impressive shot. I'm saying that they made it out to be one of the best 3 wood shots of all time. The love yall have for Fox is one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

You do realize that people couldn’t hit wedges close to that hole, right? I don’t give a shite what Fox said about it, it was a great shot that took balls to hit in that spot

How far was his putt on his 3rd shot?

20 foot straightforward chip. Your point?

If they did it without commentary, just show the box with where the player stands and what shot they’re on, they’d be GOAT.

I guess my point is that there's clearly a reason Louisiana ranks #48 in education.

Can you name many better ones? It was a great shot in a big moment to help win the US Open.

The ‘no interrupted coverage’ was the tits.
Even the Masters breaks for IBM, AT&T and Mercedes plugs.

Lmao. You don’t have a point so you fall back on this

Quite honestly I think Fox took a step back from even a few weeks ago with the women's open. The features early in the day today and yesterday were pretty brutal. I don't need Clint Eastwood telling me about how great his 10 million dollar neighborhood is or Jim Nantz sucking his own dick in the booth for 10 minutes.
But with all of that said if you could find me an American golf broadcast that comes within 100 miles of what Fox does with every USGA championship they do I'll eat my own boot.

Off the top of my head, I'm sure I can find literally hundreds of others if you'd like.
I don't think yall understand what I'm saying. I'm not disagreeing that it was a good shot at a very clutch time, but it's a long damn way from one of the goat 3 wood shots.

Some people are gonna bitch no matter what. The same people bitch about Nantz at Augusta every year. I think Fox did a great job. I would get rid of Faxon and cut down on some of the fluff stories, maybe add a big chested blonde...other than that it was pretty solid.

By linking those videos you prove that you have no fricking clue what you are talking about.

You just linked a bunch of shots that didn't take the same set of stones as what woodland did today.

So you're bitching about one possibly slightly overreaction in the heat of the moment over like 60 hours of live coverage, which is way more than any other network will give you?
So at best you're a prick being nitpicky AF and at worst you're a retard that knows nothing about golf.

Faxon is better than Zinger, imo, and I like Zinger, but he can wear thin with the goofy deal. Faxon is getting really, really good imo at explaining what these guys are actually trying to do as far as angles and what not. He points out that you really need to be on the right side of the fairway to have a good chance to make birdie whereas typical PGA Tour color is "fairway hit, good shot"

No arguement there.

Great analysis, Elon. I appreciate your in depth rebuttal!

Are you serious? I'm not a fan Nick's, but he's a million times better than Buck. That and they are in different positions. I don't know if Buck even plays golf.
Exactly. Buck is better as a play by play guy than Faldo is as an analyst. I’m not watching Buck for insight. I am for Faldo. I get nothing from him.

Lol. Has Faldo ever said anything insightful? I'm not exaggerating, has he said one insightful thing ever in his broadcasting career?
Not that he has any time anyway between commercials and 4 minutes of features then 3 golf shots then more commercials.

The actual coverage itself is great, the commentary is trash. I "nitpicked" that particular part because it was one of the only times this week where I didnt have the volume down. That and the uber cringey " What a man " comment about Gaston on 7.
