Oakwing in Alec yesterday, wet, cart path only but was in good shape, unlike my golf game. Woke up with a head cold, my game had the flu. 47/46

Yikes. But now you have your bad round for the year out of the way. I hope for many 82s this year for you!!

79 yesterday. Doubled the 1st after a plugged sidehill bunker shot. Doubled 11 after a bad chip across the green. Birdied 18.

New putter in the bag was solid. Put in an Odyssey Stroke Lab 7S in place of my Stroke Lab 9. Didn't necessarily drain a bunch of long putts, but was more confident over the shorter ones that you know you should make.

76 w/2 birdies in Crowley. It was soaked. I went +6/-1. The front continues to kick my arse. No doubles though.

Santa Maria on 2/9 was my last round. Doubled 18 to shoot 80. Birdies on #3 and #16.

So tired of the rain.

Walked Santa Maria this morning. It was wet.

But...I was on fire. Everything was on: driver, irons, wedges, putter. Birdied 4 of the first 7 and went out in 33. Even a 3 putt on 11 and a 5 foot birdie lip out on 12 couldn’t faze me. Birdied 14, bogeyed 16 then had a slippery 10 footer on 18 for 69. It just slid by, but I will not complain about my career low round of 70.

This means I’ll shoot 86 next time out.

Still on a high from this round.

Sunday, February 23rd
MetroWest Golf Club – Orlando, FL
40-38 78
Course used to be a top 10 in the city. Wow, what a goat farm.
Designed in 1987 by Robert Trent Jones Sr.
Great course layout. Maybe one day they can get it back.

Sunny outside in BR with what felt like a stiff 3-4 club wind while walking to lunch today. That much wind, mixed with very little rain and some sun, we could have a dry golf course this weekend.
