I play fast, usually finish in right under or at 3 hours if I’m walking solo, so pace won’t be an issue.. but What’s the acceptable etiquette of walking while playing with riders?

Don’t slow the pace and stop walking if they address the ball while you’re somewhat near. Just because other people want a cart doesn’t mean you have to pay for one.

I have no issues playing with guys that walk while I ride, as I don't mind if it's a little longer.

That said, just don't take forever.

I do know some guys at our club that flat out refuse to play with walkers.

As long as you can keep up/pace, I don't see why it would be a problem. Very few courses allow walking in Central Florida. Mainly pace of play, but a lot of courses have significant gaps between holes that would require you to really hustle to get to the next hole.

I end up being a solo walker a lot. Generally, I tee off first or last.
The other players are hitting while I’m walking up. I’ll stop while they hit if they are very close to me. Otherwise, I keep walking to my ball.

The only problem with walking is if you’re paired with very fast golfers who are riding.

I do this pretty regularly. I've certainly never been the holdup, and it sounds like you won't be either. Just keep up and don't clang your irons together walking while someone else is hitting. You'll be halfway to the next tee box after holing out by the time your playing partners are done putting their clubs up and getting back in their carts.

Yeah I've never found walking to be slower really. Majority of our club is walkers and you generally see mixed groups of walking/riding.

It’s never been an issue. If I’m a single paired with riders I always say starting off the round casually, “if I’m holding you guys up, feel free to leave me behind” to be nice but it’s never an issue. You really don’t save much time riding anyways when it’s all said and done.

Do maintain etiquette tho. Just because you’re walking doesn’t give you the right to bang your clubs around and stuff trying to walk ahead while they’re hitting.

I walk mostly and I don't think I've ever slowed the pace of play, especially when I'm playing well. Most of the time, I'm actually waiting on the guys in the carts. A walker that shoots a 100 would be a problem though.

A walker should be faster than 2 guys sharing a cart.

This along with not walking directly behind someone if they're over their ball. Also, put a hand on your clubs if you're walking, not in view, while another player is over their ball.

I’ve had to play through people in a cart on more than one occasion when walking solo. Walking directly to your ball is almost as fast as two people in a cart. Just know how to walk. Don’t wait beside the guys hitting. Walk up near your ball to the side. I feel like I need to rush and it carries over to my play on the green. That’s really on me, though, not others because they don’t say anything (I just think they are thinking it).

I don’t walk so this is coming from the other side of the coin. All of these suggestions presented so far are excellent. I don’t mind playing w/ a walker if he’ll keep up his pace. If I have to wait a minute for him to get to his drive not a problem. He will at some point wait for me around a green. In other words the biggest difference in time will be on tee shots. After 2nd or 3rd shots it is not usually an issue.

I play normally. Pace isn’t problem vs 2 people in a cart. Each in their own car can be a little tough to keep up sometimes. It’s good exercise though!
