Totally agree with this. If every tournament isn’t a riviera they whine and whine about how bad the course is and it’s beneath the tour standard.
I enjoy the podcast but smug is a perfect word to describe it.

Hell, they even whined about Riv this year. Soly is by far the worst. He has 0 personality and is so pretentious. I will give him credit though he’s a great interviewer.

I'll disagree here. I consume everything NLU does. There are plenty of things I disagree with, but I'm always entertained by their content. Having said that, I think interviews is the worst thing Soly does. I think he struggles with forming questions and ends up talking through it for far too long. I think his best attribute is running their pods. The shows are always better organized with him running it.

Hard disagree. He comes across as trying to be buddies with the player instead of hitting them with any substantive potentially uncomfortable questions

The golf course architecture bitching gets so old.
Some of the course set up criticisms are fair game, but I doubt a single one of them has the ability to agronomically achieve what they believe the course set ups should be.
They do a great job of previews and recaps though. Some of their deep dive stuff is interesting too.
Agree that Soly throws nonstop softballs up in most interviews.

Kevin’s kid was in a local event with my daughter yesterday - I’ve seen him a few times at DCP events etc - don’t know them well at all but the kid was very friendly and the parents were extremely kind and supportive FWTW….
I had no idea he was an actual golf social media titan - I look forward to asking him
About this - Very friendly family and actually great golf parents with their kid from what I saw… probably better than me as they don’t seem to out much pressure on her at all haha

To be fair to KVV, he's more than that. He was a journalist with ESPN for a very long time. He's more a traditional journalist that has shifted his media as the dynamics of the job have changed.

I used to have an issue with Andy’s voice, but after listening to enough pods it doesn’t bother me at all now.
It’s by far the most fun podcast to me on a consistent basis.

I really don’t get the Foreplay hate. It doesn’t pretend to be something other than what it is. They are a bunch of normal dudes who talk golf and don’t act as know-it-alls like NLU does. Adding Kisner was a great move as well.

He can get that way, but I'll always think of him fondly for a few of his NLU episodes.
The episode, in particular, where he and Soly went back and rehashed the history of the British media's indignation on the 1997 Ryder Cup had me laughing as hard as I've ever laughed at a podcast.

Yeah, KVV does well with the historical podcasts. Talking about current events is where he does not fit in at all with NLU or Fried Egg.

Yeah man, I don’t get it either. I mean, why would people hate on a group of guys with terrible personalities…….so weird
