Dude just made his first cut since the open last year. I am not sure there is anything he can do to get picked. I am saying this as a huge Max Homa fan.

I just looked up the standings. He is currently 23rd, but well behind Keegan at 22. However, he is still well ahead of guys that have been on USA teams recently (Ryder and Presidents) and guys you wouldn't be shocked to see on the team:

Theegala
Burns
Spieth
Cam Young
Zalatoris

I am not saying those guys are having good seasons, but he is still ahead of them. There is still a lot of time before the teams are decided. He told the NLU guys that he felt great going into the Masters, and he finished in the top 12. I hope this triggers a good run of form. I would not rule him out yet.

Do they monitor the crowd for knuckleheads who try to disrupt the players swing with sudden noises and movement?

I’ve been to several Masters rounds and I never once thought if I yell “Miss it!l” during their transition that that would be acceptable.

Acknowledging good play seems appropriate. Celebrating a great shot seems appropriate.

What actions are over the line?

Not going to lie, I've kind of always liked the Euro Ryder Cup crowds more than the US. As I get older, over the top rowdy golf fans get on my nerves. It's like the Euro fans have the ability to be raucous but also keep it under control to where they are still respectful. US fans just become giant douche bags for the Ryder Cup.

Reed is also a terrible fit at Bethpage.

He is one of only three guys (Koepka, Glover) that are in the top 100 of US Points with a win at Bethpage.

Agree he wouldn’t be a fit at a PGA style Bethpage, but wouldn’t be as bad if you cut the rough down everywhere.

Fwiw, he’s that mainly that high up because of his finish in the 24 Masters which will be 1.5 years before the actual Ryder Cup.

Been to both type Ryder Cup venues. Euros are rowdy up to the point of a player addressing the ball. Yet, they do not yell insipid crap after a player strikes the shot (not putt), Americans were just the same, except for the after-shot shite yells.

Both fans bases ragged the opposition and yelled support for their side.

However, this is in NYC area and beer is on-site. So, the Bethpage venue may be quite different than my experornces.

How much does the beer cost?

Is it just average Michelob, Coors, etc or is it keg beer from a craft house?

Is there a “tailgate” party where they load up on shots before entering gates?

Do they use a vodka soaked tampon up the arse to keep the buzz?

i think we look solid AF

Scheff
Shauffele
Morikawa
Dbro
JT

all are solid in Ryder

then add Henley, Cantley, and you DO NOT LEAVE PATRICK AT HOME.

in match play you need dogs.

Beer was normal ,cost for the area. Sorry, Gentry-boy, I'm not like you and use tampons.

Just have traveled and know several Long Islanders. West Enders are 'golf appreciating' fans. East end - kinda the definition of rowdy. IMHO

You absolutely leave Patrick at home.

Dude is a cancer. Hazeltine was 10 years ago, a lot of water under the bridge since then.

Well, the European team list in 2023 wasn't very inspiring either and they whipped our arse!

Let the major's playout before making any decisions on whether or not Reed is fit for this team. He has good showings then you can't leave him off the team.

Anyone in the top 6 earned their way in.

If it’s a captain’s pick, you leave him at home. Ryder Cup is mostly a team dynamic. I wouldn’t waste a captain’s pick on the hope he will win a singles match on the last day.

Reed does not play well with others, especially these days.
