How are courses in Louisiana dealing with the snowfall and have you heard about when they are reopening?

I would think Saturday in the Baton Rouge area at the earliest. Still a ton of snow on the ground.

Oakbourne (Lafayette) sent an email today that they will remain closed on Friday and hope to take the tarps off the greens on Saturday.

quote:

Oakbourne Members,

We are reopening the clubhouse tomorrow, Friday January 24th, from 10am-4pm! Stop by for some hot seafood gumbo!

The golf course will remain closed, as we are still hoping to remove the covers off of the greens sometime this Saturday.

We hope to see you soon!

I think so too, but it will be a muddy mess.

TPC will reopen Saturday at 10am. They had the greens and tees tarped.

Called this morning to see if they were doing tee times for Sunday yet.... nope. They are still waiting to see if they can pull the tarps tomorrow, just said to keep looking for email or text communication. There's a chance they won't be able to open this weekend.

I think today will be a big day for golf courses --- enough of the snow needs to melt off today to start to prepare the course. There is still snow everywhere in Lafayette.

How muddy is it? Anyone know anything about Beaver Creek. Supposed to play there Sunday morning but kind of leaning against it. Hate playing in muddy conditions.

Cane Row is claiming that they will be open Saturday. I imagine any course that is open will be packed.

Not as bad as you think I bet. 10” of snow is only about 1” of rain. Another sunny day tomorrow and it should be very playable.
