A guy from work is trying to sell me a set of Ping G410 Irons along with the driver for $500. Said they are in great condition and 2 years old. I however, don't know shite when it comes to clubs ect. but could use a new set. All thoughts are appreciated.

Seems like a good deal...sounds like you just play here and there so I’m sure they are fine.

Check for a serial number on the hosel for authenticity. Most irons have it somewhere.

Yeah I like to play but am pretty mediocre. They have graphite shaft and are regular flex by the way and I think I need a stiff shaft.

If it's a G410 driver as well, you should absolutely buy them. That's an incredible deal

If right shaft for you, might be worth it

Don't buy them. Whether $500 is a good deal or not is completely irrelevant.

You could own the most expensive irons out there, but if they don't fit you yourself in particular, then they are automatically inferior imo compared to a humble set that actually fits.

Trust me as someone who grew up playing with shitty hand-me-down clubs.....go somewhere and get fitted by a pro for a set of irons instead. It will save you many headaches

Probably $700 worth of clubs at minimum

I just looked at a used set at GolfBalls.com for $700 4-PW

OP if you don’t want them, I’ll buy them. What color is the dot?

Wow! So impressed!

Will he be the first person in history to buy himself a low handicap? Or will he be on here in 6 months trying to sell them just to break even?

Stay Tuned

How on earth could you know that?

What if seller is joe rogan midget-sized with tyranisaurus rex arms and and buyer is tall with long arms?

Wait. Nevermind. Commercial branding and strategic marketing sharks in a board room make people believe shiny object good. So it good. the end. buy driver with white head for extra $500 oonga boonga. Gross

They’re game improvement ping irons. If he can’t hit these after some practice he should find a new hobby

So be it.

Hey. It may be a great set of irons for some. And it might even be a bargain compared to the prices set by corporate marketing sharks that understand this market so desperate to buy a game.

But to me, it's all irrelevant compared to fit and confidence.

Youre the one telling him to go spend $1500. Most people suck at golf, they're going to suck no matter what equipment.

Those heads are good and for $500 of its that big a deal he can replace the shafts in all the clubs and still come out way ahead. The heads are by far the least important part of a fitting.

In short, you are making a terrible point.

Ping G410 driver alone is still listed at about 350-400 still.

Seems like a steal.

What color? Need to get measurements and make sure they are right for you. Ping has a chart online you can reference

Never did that. Did the exact opposite

False.

For instance, I myself suck at golf.

But I suck much much less with humble modest cost fitted clubs than I did with hand me down overpriced gimmicks that didn't fit.
