I wonder if Greystone is going to get a pro that does lessons now that Blane and Jared are gone to the Bluffs.

Gamon Manne'
he's a great instructor
I go to him a couple times a year ($100 per video lesson)
he's helped me lower my score by 15 strokes in the past 2 years.
I highly recommend

Andres Prieto at Pelican Point Golf Club, they have 9 holes specifically for golf lessons and learning to play golf and 2 driving ranges. Andres is a great guy.

true and he's probably good in private lessons
in group lessons he rushes you through and clearly has other things going on, he's pretty distracted, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Yeah I took private lessons, I have taken group lessons before at a couple different places but if you serious you need one on one time with any pro

That was my experience. He was really nice, but the group lessons I did over there were way too large for much instruction. I imagine he's better one on one. The assistant pro (Tyler, maybe? Can't remember his name) was better at staying on task.

No shorts game lessons.
2 years ago I couldn't finish 18 holes with an actual score
He basically built a new swing for me and taught me how to hit a driver.
He uses video based learning and it helps tremendously.
I can now consistently shoot in the low 80's
having 2 kids now doesn't allow me to spend much on lessons with him anymore

Our group only had 6 people so I thought group lessons would be fine but honestly Andres brought his kid to some of them. His kid is a great golfer but kind of stole the focus from the lesson. Once the hour or hour and a half was up, Andres was out of there. The 6 of us ended up just helping each other..so basically we got some beer and talked about how much our golf game sucks.
If I could get rid of my damn slice I'd be alright..

Drive over to Rob Noel at Money Hill if you are serious about improving. There is also a Rob Noel "tech center" in Nola that has an excellent instructor (Craig) that could help you a ton. I use these guys and I believe they are the best in the bizness
