It’s not in its best shape. They have been getting pounded with rain. They are working on it though.
I shot 75 w/3 birdie today. (Par 71)

79 w/ 1 birdie and a double at Acadia National. Tee boxes were top dressed which I have never seen them do before. Glad to see them using my money to do something to improve conditions. Maybe they will punch the greens this year at some point

Did you play prior to the renovation? Interested to know how much was maintained vs dug up and changed.

I did but that was 6+ years ago
I remember it having some elevation changes, being tree lined, and out in the middle of nowhere

77 with a birdie and a double in the Crowley dog fight today. My lowest round in god knows how long so I won’t bitch about how much better it could have been.
But it could have been better
But it could have been better

How are the greens? I have to go to Houston soon and I would love to play the dogfight on my way there.
Gotta remember, 6 iron off 1... not 4 iron lol

7i wedge or 3w and putter are the only 2 ways to play it. Greens are ok.

It’s bayou bend. They are good for about 2 weeks a year and that’s mid to late August for the Lloyd nickel. They are what they are the rest of the year. I’ve stopped getting mad when I hit the perfect line but it takes a strange left turn or perfect speed and a random hop kills all the speed. I remind myself it’s cheap to play there and I’m having a good time.
Eta don’t show up expecting pristine conditions and it can be a fun course to play

74 at Santa Maria with 4 bogies and 2 birdies. Getting used to the light speed greens. Tried out the 18birdies app for the first time and it's pretty awesome.

Trust me, I’m totally fine with that. I had a great time the first time I played there in the dogfight. Not to mention the cheeseburger!

When are you coming through?
Posted on 4/25/19 at 7:27 am to CoachChappy
Maybe Monday or Wednesday

Nice, I doubt I can get away and play. It’s the end of the school year. I’ll be off all summer though.

Wednesday’s are the big dogfights and lunch is usually provided. Monday’s are only like 2 or 3 teams if they even have enough to play

70 w/4 birdies in the dogfight at bayou bend (par 71). Previous low round was 73.
And it could have been better

Played Coppermill today. Greens aren’t that bad at all. Way better than Beaver Creek, and better than Greystone.

Just got back from a trip to Bermuda and played a few times. It is a 21-square mile island with 6 course.
I first played at Turtle Hill, which is a par 3 course at the Fairmont resort. It is ranked in the top par 3 courses in the world. Winds were 27 mph with gusts up to 35. Had some pretty memorable shots starting 60 yards left of the green and then landing just under the hole. Not sure what I shot, but it was not good except for a few pars.
Next, we moved to a bed and breakfast. Right when we got there, the host showed us an old gate in their garden. We walked through it and then some thick trees for about 10 yards and ended up on the 17th green of Belmont Hills Golf Course. She called the club house and they sent a cart down to pick us up. Great views of the islands and Great Sound, but they punched the greens a few days before. Shot 84 with a lot of help from the course's natural slopes toward the greens and a couple birdies.
The white roof is our bed and breakfast.
And this is from the tee box.
On our last day, I played at Port Royal, which hosted the PGA Grand Slam of golf for about 6 years until 2014 I think. This was a hard golf course. Luckily, I caught up with a group that included a member and played with them. If it weren't for his advice, I would have shot 100+. Ended up with one birdie and shooting a 91 due to the Atlantic fricking Ocean.
This is #16, a par 3 with nothing but the Atlantic Ocean and some foliage between the tee and green. Its a gorgeous hole. Hard as balls. We ended up with 1 bogey and 3 doubles.
From the tee:
Between the tee and green:
We also managed to play a putt-putt course that is made up of miniature versions of real holes: 6 from Bermuda, 6 from America, and 6 from Scotland. Its located on one tip of the island and was a lot of fun and like the other courses, hard. Par 65.

Played Wildcat Highlands today. The course is in great shape.
Shot 74 win an eagle and 4 birdies. Wind was nasty today.
