I typically make decent contact, but consistently miss toward the toe of the club. Nothing crazy, still on the grooves but maybe 1/4 inch from center. Enough that I lose a little distance and don’t get that feeling of a flush hit.

I’ve watched some YouTube videos and read some things, typically saying that I’m not extending, or I’m pulling my arms in before contact etc.

I do have some lessons scheduled, but that’s almost a month out. Anyone have some things they’ve done to help center up contact that I should try?

make sure you are speeding up through impact. If you are not "extending" or "pulling your arms in" then most likely you are slowing down at impact.

tee a ball up and take a 1/2 backswing, and swing as fast as you can. your followthrough should be that of a full swing (repeat as needed)

you could be potentially taking too long of a backswing, which will cause you to slow up right before impact also.

How much distance are we talking about losing? Like still hitbthe green or come up 20 yards short? If still hitting the green, I suggest becoming Tiger or Collin Morikawa because they're about the only two guys on the planet that flush it every time.

that won't fix his swing issue, just mask it until he makes a good swing and hits a hozel rocket into his playing partners jock strap. A good swing needs to be rewarded so it can be duplicated

I had a huge bout with toe hits, the main cause and definitely my issue was a steep downswing. Getting shallower fixes so many poor outcomes and why almost all elite ballstrikers are in a downswing plane flatter relative to the backswing.

Now what caused this for me was rolling my left arm open on the backswing. Keep that left elbow pointing at the target/down. A great analogy is to imagine you were swinging an axe at a tree. That lead elbow will be point at the tree.

Video yourself with a cellphone, if your hands are higher at impact that they were address this will be the culprit, its how you rescue an overly steep doenswing.

The first thing I would try would be to inch closer to the ball in such small increments.

I tend to move the ball away form my centerline over the course of the season. Get closer to the ball, stand tall to the ball, and watch your stroke fall.

You're standing up through impact. In all likelihood, it's due to be steep and your body standing up in an attempt to shallow the club. But it could also be due to a multitude of issues.

Makes sense to me. Stand too close - shanks. Stand too far away - toe hits.

I secretly try to do this at least once a round if the opportunity presents.

I struggle with this. On the range, hit some 3/4 shots with an exaggerated high finish that ends with the swing ending with the club on the back of your neck and belt buckle facing your target to ensure you're turning through it. It may feel like you're going to block it, but for me this results in a centered hit because I have a tendency to want to swing to the left rather than release down the target line.
