I love my 60 degree cleveland. I love it around the greens and I like it from about 59 yards or so.
I also use it out of the sand.
My irons come with an “approach” wedge which I think is 50 degree? Seems like I’m always hitting over greens. It can easily go 115.
I feel like a 52 would give me a great 80-100 yard full swing.

Thoughts?

You should be able to confirm the degree of your approach wedge on the manufacturer's website.

I carry a 52 - it's a 90ish yard club for me. Lots of people tinker with their wedge game. I bet you could find what you're looking for on eBay (at a discounted price).

Would you sub the 50 degree out of your bag for the 52?

Yea I think so. I feel like ever time I use the 50 I’m trying to back off of it.
Which, granted, I need that shot also.

I don't know about you but I get in trouble when I start trying to hit partial shots with my wedges.... more than likely it's a lack of skill on my part. The rule of thumb is 3-4 degrees gapping between your wedges but you know your game better than anyone - and the shot distances you are consistently presented with.

You currently have nothing between 50 and 60 degrees?

Nope. I got the approach and the 60.
I have a sand wedge but I’m not crazy about it.
I use the 60 for sand, and anything 60 yards in or so. For like an 80 yard shot I either try a partial approach or just hit the bejeezus out of the 60, which does sometimes work.
Actually following a 56,52 Cleveland set on eBay at this moment.

I bought a 52° and it gives me real security blanket from about 100 to 105. I like my chances of making birdie a lot from that range now

My Callaway Apex irons have a PW & A(ss) wedge, I also have Vokey 52° & 56° wedges, all gapped 10yds, +/-…

I'd think a 54 or 56, a SW, to fill that gap between your Gap/Approach wedge and your.60* lob wedge.

You need more options.

I have a PW, 50, 54, and 58.

My 54 gets more work than any other club.

My Titleist set has a PW (43 degrees), GW1 (48 degrees), GW2 (53 degrees) and I carry a Ping 58 degree for sand/lob. I like the 53 around the greens since most places I play the greens are somewhat elevated.

I play 45PW, 50GW, and 56SW that is a 56D12. I honestly can't imagine going higher than 56 but I am considering going 54/58 with the 54 being the work horse around the green. Reason being I use the 50 a lot but need a little more bounce than what my stock GW gives which I think is 6-7*. Could use a 54 with 10* bounce, S grind or something like that. Looking at switching from Vokey to Mizuno T22 or Cleveland RTX wedges.

Made the switch from Vokey to the Cleveland RTX and not looking back. Love the RTX wedges.

Really? Interesting. I might make the switch too. Just never fell in love with the Vokey this year.

I like the look of the Cleveland. The Mizunos are forged, like my irons, so interested in that feel.

I like partial shots.

If I’m around the green I putt if I can, chip if I can’t putt and pitch if there is a hazard in the line.

60 is just for flops and compact sand.
If I’m inside 80, I typically use the 55.

If pin is back I’ll use either 50 or even 45 depending on how much rollout I want.

I carry 45,50,55,60 wedges.

I never swing a wedge hard.
I just grab the next one.
I go to the pitching area and practice about once every 6 weeks just to try different shots.
Knee high, waist high, chest high, shoulder high.
Move hands down the grip to subtract a few yards.

All in all, I can probably only gauge the difference of about 10-15 yards. So my results are best at 50 yards. I cannot deliver a different swing on 45 yards or 55 yards.

I use my 52* wedge a ton. It's my 100 yd club on my standard swing. I carry a 56* also, don't carry a 60* at all. My 56* is right about 80yds for me. My PW is 46* and it's usually my 120yd club.

You’re still going to be about 110 with the 52. If you’re trying to hit it 100-105, I’d go with a 54 or 56 degree.

I love my 52. I used to carry a 50 but my wedges were wearing out and I bought a set of 52, 56, 60 Vokeys. I was worried the 52 was going to be too short but it is fine. Any thing around 100 yards it is the club of choice. I also can use the 56 for that as well but if I have to step on it, it tends to balloon. I use the 56 100 in and in the sand. 3/4 swings mostly. The 60 is reserved for short sided shots out of sand or buried lies with a short porch.
