Around 80
You shoot in the 70's sometimes and 80's sometimes, but the average is 80?
Since you don't play alot, I'd probably give you like a 10 handicap, which is around group B.
If you shoot in the mid to upper 80's, I'd give you something like a 14, which puts you as a good C-group player.

I'd like to petition to be picked last, so I don't have to suffer the anguish of sitting through the Captain picks. Thanks.

Just an FYI this situation sounds similar to me... I don't play alot of rounds every year.
My last scores in my Grint Handicap:
3/23/19 - 83
3/23/19 - 89
2/15/19 - 86
10/12/18 - 82
9/7/18 - 80
9/6/18 - 84
8/24/18 - 84
8/17/18 - 83
I am still a 6.9 on Grint... Those mid 80's rounds don't have much bearing on handicap but those 70's rounds hang with you for YEARS.

I’m all in favor of using common sense to keep this tournament fair and fun.
And handicaps are hard to use when your last 20 rounds span 2+ years.
On the other hand, some people want every advantage and will sandbag.
I’m not saying anything one way or the other about anyone, but the issues are quite obvious.

Yeah, I swore to never play another tournament that asked for a handicap after getting royally shafted....in an FCA event of all things. Handicaps to pick teams is the fair way to do it, though.

Take reggo for example. If we just assume the rating and slope of his scores are handicap neutral.
And let’s use two methods, lowest only. And average of lowest half.
80 - 72 = 8 * .96 = 7.68
80 + 82 + 83 + 83 = 328 / 4 = 82
82 - 72 = 10 * .96 = 9.6
So, his handicap is still between 8 & 10.
Obviously, playing from one or two tees up would reduce the ratings and increase the difference (and also the handicap). Whereas a more difficult slope (above 113) would slightly lower the handicap.
Let’s use SM. And the 82 average.
Tips - 73.4/132 - 7.07 handicap
One up - 70.3/124 - 10.23 handicap
Whites - 67.7/116 - 13.37 handicap
As you can see, 7-13 isn’t much different than 8-10. I’d probably give him a 10 and call it a day.

I'm just so thankful for a chance to get away and play a great course that I'll take any #
Thanks for all you're doing. At least a few of your cold drinks are on me that day

Right now the course is playing as easy as I have seen in a while. Greens are on the slow side but look really nice and roll true. The rain last week was much needed and could still use more. Fairways were perfect this week. I saw them cutting roughs so I guess they don’t intend to kill us with a heavy Bermuda like they did last year. There are still a few spots where if you get off the fairway it will sit down heavy. Bunkers need some work. Don’t know if more sand or it’s time for a redo. Hitting mat underneath in some spots.
This all can change real quick. When I played it was only about a 1/2 club wind. Which at latour is zero.
