I've actually had more trouble with lag and getting into a party on 360 than on PS3.

Guess you are either lucky or lying. It's so bad the PS3 Black Ops people have a petition with thousands of signatures wanting a refund and Tryearch even said they are aware of how bad it is on PS3 but can't duplicate some of the problems to figure out ways to fix them.
