Xbox is winning the new gen console battle right now

This is coming from an avid PS user. The fact that they have come out with the release date and the price at $499.00 shows they are going all out for the consumer. Also throw in the backwards capability across all their previous platforms makes the new XBOX leaps and bounds ahead of the PS5. And the specs are better. Seriously considering jumping ship.

Have God of War and Final Fantasy VII Remake been ported to XBOX yet...no?

God of War isn’t worth buying a system for
Me. It’s repetitive as hell. Never played Final Fantasy.

Paying $500 to replay your old 360 or XB1 games is a good thing? What are some new games you're looking forward to?

the XSS is an awesome move and is going hard at a nice niche
that being said, PS has the better exclusives, the cutting edge SSD (the most significant improvement from this gen to next), VR compatibility, and better controller features. xbox still doesnt have an exclusive worth a motherfrick
ill be getting both but im more optimistic about PS5 for sure

I’m not buying it solely to play my old Xbox games but it would be cool to throw in college baseball or football once in a while. Only game that I think is pretty good that’s a ps5 exclusive is horizon.

but what does that translate to? XSX will outperform PS5 on third party games by a few frames. is that noticeable? no
dont listen to the 4K/120 marketing bullshite from MS. Won't happen outside of a handful of games. You'll get to pick one or the other, resolution or frame rate. I imagine most games will offer a visual mode for resolution or a performance mode for frame rate
expect 4K/60 to be the standard for well-optimized AAA games from both consoles

Agree to disagree. I bought a PS4 specifically for God of War.

I don't care about God of War, and if FF7 Remake comes to Xbox like the Kingdom Hearts collections did, it'll be on Game Pass a couple months later and I won't have to pay a dime to play it.

All that matters is the games and Sony has more and ones that actually interest me coming out now and in the future, their output has been amazing even in the last year of the PS4. Xbox is a lot of promise about the future because they’re currently getting their arse kicked, it’s really all they have to go off and gamepass.

Well technically since GamePass is not free, you did pay a dime somewhere.
Microsoft moves are interesting. Right now Microsoft is coming in hard with GamePass Ultimate and unifying console/PC world, Xcloud for playing on any device, and very aggressive price points on hardware.
Sony can only hang its hat on exclusives, which are good, but they still lack a larger vision beyond that. The FTL SSD in PS5 is only going to go so far.
I posted in the other thread the companies worth and MSFT is at the point it can gobble up Sony and shite it out without even noticing it. They are not going to, but have some serious capital to start peeling away at Sony's exclusives if they get they head out of their arse and feel like going for the kill shot.

While this is technically true, I'm going to be paying for Game Pass anyway as it's far cheaper than buying all the games I was buying, so that's free enough to me.

I think they are doing this. They're just doing it differently. They're buying up studios, but instead of making all of the games console exclusive, they're making them instantly available on Game Pass day of release but still selling them on other consoles. They don't seem to see a need in making all of their studios' games exclusive.
XBox was set to make a really big move if WB hadn't reversed course and decided to keep its games studio. It's clear MS is looking to make a splash in terms of game production.

totally fallacious argument I always see from Xbox fanboys. Xbox is a division within MS just like Sony Interactive Entertainment is its own division within Sony Corp. if SIE needs money, they're not pulling it from Sony's film division Same case with Xbox and Microsoft.
Even if that was the case and we assumed that capital was all that mattered (clearly, it's not), why did xbox just eat shite for 7 years with the Ones? why haven't they gobbled up sony yet? why are they waiting for this "kill shot" despite their infinite money reserves?
edit:
2017 numbers because there's nothing comprehensive on FY2019 numbers that I can find
quote:
The division, which includes Xbox hardware, Xbox and software and services, revenue from games made by Microsoft as well as other studios, generated more than $10 billion in annual revenue for the first time.
quote:
Nintendo, whose North American headquarters is just down the road from Microsoft’s Redmond, Wash., struck gold with the Nintendo Switch this year. The smash-hit console powered Nintendo to $9.7 billion in net sales for its fiscal year ending in March, up 105 percent from the year before.
Sony, with the PlayStation 4, is the clear leader among console makers and its financials reflect that. For the year ending in March, the company’s Game and Network Services division generated $17.7 billion in sales and $1.6 billion in profit for the year, more than any other part of the company.
ETA here we go
FY2019
quote:
In the year ended March 31, 2020, Sony's Game and Network Services division earned ¥1.98 trillion ($18.5 billion), down 14% year-on-year. The games division made an operating profit of ¥238 billion ($2.2 billion), down from ¥311 billion the year before.
quote:
Xbox gaming made roughly $11.4 billion in Fiscal Year 2019, once again accounting for less than 10% of Microsoft's total revenues for the period ($125.84 billion)

I mean really what else matters besides exclusive games?
I've never understood the whole console debate, especially now. Cross platform for multiplayer is more of a thing than it's ever been. After the consoles are out for 1 or 2 years at the most they become outdated pieces of shite from a hardware standpoint anyway.

They still don't have any games I want to play.

Thats cool and all, but all that does is hurt the console. I have a gaming pc and can play xbox exclusives to where I don’t even bother buying the console. I still have my ps4 around and play it for exclusives.

right. i teetered back and forth for a long time regarding whether I should get a XSX. PS5 + PC has me covered for EVERYTHING game-wise
most of my friends are xbox though, so I'm getting one for MP. if crossplay becomes a commonality amongst the major releases, I could see myself opting out of xbox for the next next gen

I'm pretty sure Xbox fanboys said the same thing before the PS4 dropped and then Sony outsold them 2 to 1. The switch has only been out for 3 years and already has 20 million more units sold than the Xbox One.
