Way too much money to be made for it to just be an exclusive.

That's like, having two large yards full of money to rake in everyday. Then you completely cut off one yard, in hopes the wind blows the money from that one, into the remaining one.

quote:

I think it’s time to go across the pond and see some European cities.

I'd rather those be like what vice city was, a game in the world, but not a main installment.

I'd love a separate series that ran on the same engine. Kinda like what rogue one was to star wars. Have games based in Japan (maybe even like year 2099 with a futuristic feel..can be really hi-tech in places, and very poor and dangerous in others), or a 1980s Soviet union, etc.

And get at least 1 game every 3-4 years at the max. A generation doesn't need to come and go in between releases.

Could do New Orleans on the south side of the map and the north side can be a desert with some mountains and stuff kind of like GTA V currently is but then you’ll have people saying it’s the same game.

Ideally, it’ll be GTA: VIce City
GTA 7 can be New Orleans.

I was really bored and decided to think about this with a little depth. New Orleans could definitely work for a GTA game.

Map Layout, Roadways, Locations
New Orleans city center and suburbs with surrounding environments. You have bayous, swamps, and lakes to work with. Add some fictitious hills on the northshore if more varied topography is needed. There are also several large bridges and elevated roadways to break up the flat terrain.

Make an outer roadway loop with existing highways and two fictitious connections.

(1) I-12, Hwy-190, etc on the northshore from Slidell to Hammond.
(2) Fictitious I-55/Hwy-51 south through Laplace, the swamp, and across the river down to Raceland in the west.
(3) I-49/Hwy-90 through Algiers to a fictitious I-510 bridge across the river to Chalmette.
(4) I-510 to I-10/Hwy-90 north to Slidell in the east.

For inner highways, use the existing I-10, I-310, I-610, Earhart Expressway, Westbank Expressway, Hwy-61, Hwy-90 (on both sides of the river), CCC, Huey P, and Causeway. You've got shipyards, rail yards, chemical plants, the Michoud facility, the port, several national parks, military bases, several airfields, lots of waterways, and a giant lake to play with. Add some extra high rises near Causeway if you need more city area.

You have the CBD, stadium district, warehouse district, French Quarter, plus the various neighborhoods in the city center. You have more dangerous areas of focus like the projects, New Orleans East, Marrero, and the Dirty 'Dell. You have all the places in the larger area if you want to include the swamps, national parks, other cities and towns, etc. You have Chalmette and Boutte, Kenner and Shell Beach, Ponchatoula and Eden Isles, River Town and Boom Town, Mid City and Fat City.

Missions
There are lots of potential missions unique to the environment. Use a fictitious Mardi Gras World or something where you have to steal or rig a Mardi Gras float for a mission. Make a hit on a famous tourist riding in a pedi-cab. Make a hit on a rival at a second line. Steal a horse and carriage and make your getaway through the Lafitte Greenway to City Park. Pilot a tug toting barges of stolen goods through the river and the Intracoastal Waterway. Bring back Jazzland or have an abandoned Jazzland where you need to... do something. Cut the power and infiltrate the suites in the Superdome during a championship event to shake down the commissioner of a sporting league. Break onto a filming set to harass an actor or director. Get shot at on the interstate in New Orleans East while you try to run a shipment. Bet an NPC that they don't know where you got them shoes. Stop at Mosca's on your way to or from the landfill while saying farewell to a former business associate. Search for Jean Lafitte's buried treasure, or something more practical, in the back bayous. For heroin and crack, Central City is where it's at. For meth and more, explore the northshore.

You have corrupt/inept local governments, small town police forces, city governments, state government, and federal government entities available for storylines. Drug trade, international commerce through the ports, foods and festivals, restaurants, live music, entertainment interests, sports teams, an assortment of strip clubs in different areas of town. You could even make shitty surface streets, drainage, and infrastructure part of the gameplay (find the sleeping S&WB employees, whack them to get their keys, and get the pumps working before your XYZ gets ruined).

Music and Radio Channels
Music is critically important for GTA style games. Make sure to license music for certain missions, and do at least an older rap and a newer rap channel. You could do a "cajun" and zydeco channel, a country channel, classic rock, alternative rock, a WTUL style college radio channel, an R&B channel, two talk radio channels with decidedly local flavor and stories, a heavy rock or metal type channel, an electronic / dance channel, etc.

If you're doing the northshore / southshore thing, you could make one or two local channels that you can only pick up well in certain areas. This would give a real chance to add some flavor and little cultural tidbits without having to spend story scenes to heavily develop it (or to reinforce story scenes if the channel was tied into a particular mission). Have like a weird religious cult broadcast up in the northshore, have a some kind of voodoo broadcast in the swamps somewhere, have a vietnamese broadcast out in the east and in parts of the westbank, have some kind of Croatian broadcast in the far south (representing the oyster farmers in the little towns in Plaquemines Parish)

For the rap channels, have fictitious Wild Wayne style DJs with commercials and call ins. Older stuff like DJ Jubilee (one of the party songs with shoutouts for neighborhoods or schools), Ricky B (Shake for Ya Hood), Bust Down (Nasty Bitch), UNLV (Drag Em N Tha River), MC Thick (Marrero), Most Wanted Posse (It Was a Westbank Thang), Da Shara (Bootin Up), Da Entourage (The Bunny Hop), Ruthless Juveniles (Run Dat shite), L.O.G. (G's & Soldiers), Partners N Crime (Heroin). Newer stuff for "the '99 and the 2000" from Cash Money (Back that arse Up, 400 Degrees, We On Fire, Tuesdays & Thursdays, Bling Bling, Ha, U Understand, Get Your Roll On, Number 1 Stunna, etc.), No Limit (Shake Ya arse, Make Em Say Ugh, Bourbons and Lacs, The Baddest M.F. Alive, Pass Me Da Green, Wobble Wobble, etc), and whatnot.

I'd want Phil Anselmo hosting a metal radio station if it's based in New Orleans.

Would rather see somewhere new.

Las Vegas hasn’t had a great game that’s fully shown it off yet. rainbow six games were linear, and fallout new Vegas just didn’t have the horses on the old consoles (3 different loading areas for the strip). Plus being surrounded by the desert to have an interesting out of the city area.

The hardest mission would be raising your kid to be a river pilot from the outside.

I was originally thinking, the release may come with next gen.

Was released in 2002, itll be 20 years in 2022..Rockstar knows it's a fan favorite.

If we will get a Vice city on a next gen, it may would be the most anticipated & hyped game ever.

Personally, I'd preorder in the first 5 minutes.

I think it'd be cool if you could log into your preferred music streaming service (i.e. Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, etc) through the game, and when switching to a particular station (old school/modern day rap, rock, etc) while in a vehicle, it would play directly from the streaming service within the vehicle, instead of just preinstalled in-game tracks.
Updated newer music
