I mean, I too don't agree that it's the only reason the game didn't do well, but certainly put a lot of negative reaction into a brand new game. It's part of the list of issues that people have with it. Games based on history will have backlash when they stop respecting the history it's based on.

My question is why the new one with no BR at launch?

I have a feeling more people fall into this category than people who are outraged over a female soldier being in their video game.

I have no problem playing as a female, or games with female protagonists. I buy every Tomb Raider game and enjoy them all. I just don't like being beaten over the head with inclusivity bullshite in a WWII game. Why make a game about a specific historical event and then twist the history? Just make a steam punk shooter instead of a game about real events.

BFV is actually pretty fun. The gunplay is dope. Fallout 76 is a train wreck. BFV has bugs, but nowhere near the level of 76

I mostly play female toons when I can, I would prefer looking at a female on my screen for hours.

Had the game just contained female solider options and choices, nobody would have cared.

It was the fact that they went out of their way to make it a focal point of the marketing and the announcement, clearly patting themselves on the back so aggressively about it was disgusting.

Most video gamers are very a-political actually. Nobody wants to get preached at by their entertainment.

Politics does not sell well, in any form of entertainment. Most people seek out entertainment to relax and unwind and don't want lectures.

Look I am as much anti SJW as anyone, but how many forced male protagonists have there been? Who the frick cares, does it change game play? I see I have down votes for liking to stare at a female on my screen, I guess it's the chauvinists or the pole smokers.

It's not about women in the game, it's the robotic woman they put in the game.

For christs sake, have you ever looked at the mods on nexxus? Nearly half for almost all of the games where you can create a character are heavily for female characters, clothing, outfits. Nerds love to sex their characters up in heels, tight body outfit, etc.

Battlefield fanboys are very big into creating a realistic setting and game. When they created a bionic woman, they took a shite on it, then the former head of company took a shite on the fanbase, and fanbase told EA to GFT.

They are catering and pandering to people who don't play the game/games, which is really the biggest problem.

That's kind of the issue. It doesn't affect gameplay, so why do it and try to rewrite history? If they hadn't made a game based on actual historic events, no one would care.

It's also documented that Soldiers carried spiked batons and katanas into battle.

You’re assuming that the people who didn’t buy it chose to do so because they were told not to buy it by some guy they’ve never heard of. While you have your finger firmly on the pulse of which social justice instance you need to have a quasi-witty opinion about across the pop culture spectrum, the vast majority of gamers, I would imagine, care primarily about the game they’re purchasing.

If the BR had come out with the original launch, this game would have done substantially better, and this thread doesn’t exist.
