I love my Xbox One but am still running a 1080p TV.

This along with the PS4 Pro seem like a chicken or the egg type of purchase if you are a 1080p owner right now. I assume you would see limited if any difference without a 4k tv.

Who all has the hardware to run these correctly and is pulling the trigger?

One other question. What does everyone do with their old consoles when they do these upgrades? Trade in? Sell on craigslist?

ETA: Target link for preordering the scorpio version LINK

I’m down. Already own a 4K tv. Not exactly top of the line but I’m sure I’ll see some benefit.

I’ll keep the original vcr box for a bedroom steaming device.

I had the PS4 and xbone. I really wanted an xbox one x but the lack of exclusive games was very glaring so I sold both and upgraded to the PS4 pro. I really want an X but I just can't justify the price for one or two games that wont be on PS4. Gamestop had some bonus credit they were throwing in for trades towards the pro a few weeks ago so I finally bit on it and sold both.

What exactly is the difference? I have an Xbox One S and it has 4k support with HDR and it's a UHD player... Is the Xbox One X just better hardware?

This guy. Scorpio edition arriving Thurs. Running to a samsung ks8000

As far as old consoles, I bought a PS4 Pro and sold my stock PS4 to a guy for $200. Going to leave my OG Xbox One at my parents house

I’m on the interstate heading to a job site so I’ll let you look up the tech specs on your own, but the X smokes the S

Carson, I can’t remember if you are the ‘TV guy’, but I’ll be eyeing a 60in TV for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.. any suggestions on what to look for? It’s going in my ‘office’ so it will be used for gaming and watching sports most of the time

Just remember if connected to a home theater, your receiver HAS to support 4K as well.

I can't tell you how many people I have seen who did not realize this.

That is why I am holding off for now. I would need a new TV and receiver as well.

So no optical cable to receiver with hdmi direct to tv? I have been oldschool that way for a long while.

I like playing on a monitor. So if I were going to purchase it should I definitely invest in a 4k monitor first? or is it smarter to just go ahead and switch back to a tv. As in not worth having all that power on a monitor

and yeah could you explain more about this receiver. Say I just have the small Direct tv box on my room. Would that not work? I have no problem keeping my tv and xbox separate though

I mean yeah I guess you can, but that isn't how I would do it. That is just me though.

I would say an Xbox One X would be a better buy if you don't have a 4K TV. You get a better framerate, visuals, and you don't have to worry about any games releasing below your TV's native resolution.

Getting the Scorpio edition. Considering I'm still running by Day 1 Xbone, this upgrade was an easy decision.

Project Scorpio preordered. 4K tv I picked up during Best Buy Labor Day 4K sale.

My Xbox One release day edition with seldom used/connected Kinect (used for voice commands til I got tired of yelling at my Xbox and boxed up when I got my One S) is going to my nieces, and my One S is taking its place in the bedroom.

This sounds exactly like me.

But don't you need the connect to send IR commands to your cable box if you are using the oneguide menu? I still have my connect hooked up with the camera taped over for this reason only.

I also bought the scorpio edition. I don't really want it at this point though, just not going to get the benefit out of it to upgrade from my One S and I rarely use that. PS4 or computer mainly. I was looking at just reselling the scorpio, cancelling a limited edition pre order just feels wrong
