I'm optimistic too. The thing that hurt WoD for me was the lack of story-driven end game content, which is also the thing that made Wrath GOAT. It seems like Legion will have much better storytelling and will tie the raids in much better. I see no reason it can't be at least as good as MoP, which I enjoyed immensely.

I enjoyed it as well. I thought all the raids were fun. The extra content they brought with it, including the Timeless Isle, was refreshing. I never really got tired of going out there and gearing alts and stuff.
A small part of this expansion that I'm looking forward to is being back on actual Azeroth. Even though it's on it's on continent, still like being back.

CATA's initial release was decent, and then issues began to develop.
1-60 play? Yes! Then fricking Draenor. Then being alone at the top of the world.
Dungeons, super hard just in pickup groups. This was one of the better things, but Bliz fixed it by going 180, then introducing LFR, which meant guilds were useless
Stormwind and Orgymar became the hubs of the world, while the rest was abandoned.
Still, will not call Cata worse than WoD. I was bored out of my mind with WoD.

Cata was pretty decent. I thought the dungeon Netf was needed as it was a giant pain running random heroics there for awhile.
I'm not sold on LFR then again I haven't spent much time with it as that didn't come out until I was just about done with WoW

IMO, Legion is Blizzard's one chance to redeem themselves after WoD fell flat...
I'm not even planning to resub until just before Legion hits in August.

I have not played since MoP, and I never even raided in that one.
BC and WotLK were my favorite times, though. BC was when I first started raiding, so it has nostalgia there for me. My favorite moment was being only the third guild on my server to clear 10 Man OS3D when it was still current content. Getting that group together, working over several weeks together, and leading that raid was definitely my favorite moment in WoW.
I just can't see myself ever getting back into it. The guild I was in for 7 years is still around but dying. That was really all that kept me around as long as I was.

eh i still play - mainly raid with people i work with, so that is pretty cool to.
turns out i had Alpha access and never got the email telling me so LOL. but i did get the Beta invite this morning, so i expect that I will be heavy into it this weekend.
i mainly play cause i travel for work, and my work laptop plays it well - so no additional equipment, and gives me something to do at the hotel in the evenings.

Same.. I got my beta invite last night so I'll be playing it.
I don't like playing betas like I normally would to not spoil too much, but I will take the time to play the class changes, specifically Hunters, and to try out Demon Hunters. Maybe run a few dungeons and what not.
I would like for the game still to feel new and fresh when release comes.. but I am still excited about being able to try out a few things.

I'll probably log into the beta this weekend for a bit. I like to play through the leveling content one time so I can pinpoint which quests are going to be a bitch because of 500 assholes sitting on mammoths ontop of a tiny switch that has to be clicked.

Exactly, I've played hunter since release, but I've wanted to play a Demon Hunter since WC3. I haven't mained a melee champ ever though, so I'm going to use the beta/week of DH playtime for preordering to see if I like it.

they said they will be sending out more soon - they apparently just did a small batch 1st out. surprised me cause i havent been in a beta for them since Wrath

Im disappointed in DH game play so far.. I had high expectations but so far I'm not liking it.
Still early on.. only lvl 103. But I feel weak. Not near as strong as I thought they would be. I may not know what I'm doing though.
