Specifically xbox one, not a huge gamer but I like to play pubg. I bought the kotion headphones off of amazon and am experiencing feedback issues as well as not being able to hear vehicles approaching for a few seconds after my teammates can. Hardwired, so not a delay in the bluetooth. Anyway looking to upgrade to a nicer set, up to about the $150 range. Problem is it seems like all the headsets on amazon hang around 4 stars. There is no clear cut leader, any suggestions?

So you guys rock regular headphones and add mics? I have some audio technica ath-m50x's in the closet for music recording, that I haven't used in over a year. Sounds like I may need to give them a try.

I use the ones that came with my Samsung phone three years ago..seriously..they're better than most anything not $150 (I see thats your range, so if you got it, spend it)

My only advice is to make sure you can replace the battery if you get a rechargeable headset. Not all of them have replaceable batteries.

Sennheiser.

I've used nothing else for a good 15 years now.

I got a set of refurb astro a50s wireless off of monoprice for $55 and that's my current daily driver.

My sennheiser pc373d just couldn't get it done for me, and these a50s are leaps and bounds better

edit: If you can snag a cheap pair of astros like I did from somewhere, go with that. I'm on PC tho, even though I'm using a console headset

Open air is going to be better for gaming, they have a huge soundstage which is more immersive especially when trying to pin point where the sound is coming from but the only downside is everybody nearby will hear it as well. Personally I would go with the AKG K7XX or Sennheiser HD6XX, both are $50 more than your price but are excellent value for your money. The AKG's are best for pure gaming because the soundstage is massive but the Sennheiser is better all around. If you're eyeing the HD598 I would just go ahead and spend a little more for the HD6XX or HD650.

Also in general check out Massdrop for headphones, they're not as great deals as when they started out but it's a good starting point. Plus they have exclusive deals with manufacturers like Sennheiser (HD6XX, HD58X and PC37X) where you can get a better deal for the same set of cans.

I've gotten a 7 or 8 people to buy this setup and everyone loves it. Insane that a $100 setup outperforms most $350 gaming sets.
