For me it was probably Ghost and Roach in COD MW2.

Aerith in FF7 but it's relative because I don't get into the video game stories. I just wanted my man cloud to get with her.

ME3 had so many great moments... And then that ending destroyed everything.

So, at the very end of the Dark Tower series, Stephen King breaks the fourth wall. He tells you the story is over. The ending never mattered. It was always about the journey. He wrote an ending, but you shouldn’t read it. Put the book down now and enjoy it for what it was.
I read the ending, anyway. And I’ve beaten ME3. But for both, the journey was what was important. Now, as far as I’m concerned, ME3 ends as we reboard the Normandy after the party in my apartment in the citadel DLC. Nothing that happens after can take away what I experienced during the ride.

Probably pretty random to most, but it made me feel uneasy as a kid.

Also, on a related note:
ME absolutely funnels all of your bazillion choices into a three option (basically) funnel. And that’s bullshite.
But...
If you never played the ending after they released the free Extended Cut, it’s worth doing. If you’ve never played the Leviathan DLC and then the Extended Cut, it’s definitely worth doing.
They didn’t manage to make the ending good, but they made it less insultingly bad. Makes it far easier to look back fondly on the journey.

My horse. Poor Wee-Bey.
I thought you ran away after I jumped off you when the ambush started. I never would have used incendiary buckshots to light the O'Driscolls up if I knew you were still in the area. They deserved a painful death, but I should have been more careful. I'm so sorry. But thank you for not making me choose between burial or cremation, that would have been a hard choice.

The death of Zeratul, and the constant guilt Artanis deals with the rest of the campaign.
