Weekend Gaming Thread: shooter players, is there any place to aim but the head?

Not sure if it's this way with anyone else, but ever since halo and getting that money 3-head-shot-pistol kill, I feel like I obsess over getting nothing but headshots, to the point where I think I'm putting myself at a disadvantage in close quarter situations. If you have the right weapon, body shots are going to work just as well. But my natural instinct is ALWAYS to go for the head. Who's with me?
So what are you playing this weekend? I'm in bounce mode right now, not able to settle on anything. I feel I'm really close to finally being able to finish Far Cry 4, but since the 76 announcement I've been on a big Fallout 4 kick, and I booted up Shadow of the Colossus remaster for the first time last night. That game looks gooooooooooooooooood.
And COD is a straight up joke and I really hope they are starting to figure things out with WWII and hopefully BLOPS IIII. 3 is free for PS+ users right now and I've tried to play a few rounds. The parkour stuff is fine, I'm used to it. But it's pretty much a comic book now. I tried one match last night and I had to stop, mainly because the entire look of the game was really offputting. Can't put my finger on it, but I started thinking about the COD griping on here, and I'll agree that I do miss the old games, if for nothing else for the look. Aesthetically, they're just bizarre now.

Think I'll finish my second map of State of Decay 2 and probably move to a 3rd map. Maps are randomly selected when you finish and move to the next map. If I get the plateau again, I am done. That one is too much of a pain in the arse.
Might pick up Dying Light.

I think the Fallout talk has got me in a post apacalyptic mood, so I'm alternating between Fallout: New Vegas and Horizon: Zero Dawn depnding on whether my wife is on the TV or not.
I don't have anything really to contribute to the FPS headshot comment other than that I liked how in Resident Evil 4 there were some enemies you didn't want to shoot in the head because they essentially became more powerful when you did by sprouting tentacle claws from their necks that could swipe at you from long range.
I liked that it forced you to be more varied in what you aimed for in combat. I wish more games would somehow incorporate that.

And speaking of post apocolyptic, I purchased Metro 2033 Redux a while back on PS4, so maybe I'll give that a go. I remember trying one on the PC years ago but it didn't stick because, I think, I hated how it controled. But I always hear great things about the series.

Yeah, I'm not pumped about a 3rd map but...
With Trader and Builder perks it should make it real easy settling into the Big Base at the start.

I think I'm going to fire up Metro this weekend.

Still working my way through Hope County in Far Cry 5.
Haven't picked up my Switch in a bit so I may try to play some Splatoon too.

I go for upper torso. That way I can hit most shots and bloom/recoil can randomly get a headshot. It works really well in fps.
In fortnite I go for headshots.

I'm ready to break out the D2 group again. I'll probably cycle through BLOPs 4, fortnite, and D2 the rest of the year.

Baby Andvari was born on Wednesday morning and spending a short stay in the NICU, so I'll be playing: get to know my new son =)

On console I always aim for the head. The BR in Halo 3 was a really good teacher of that and helped me out. On PC though I try and aim for the head but I struggle with it. I end up body shotting for the most part. Unless its a sniper then I aim for the head.
As far as gaming goes. Ill be on PUBG some tonight, but I have a busy weekend ahead of me. If I play I may try and get an Immortal victory on Civ 6 with Spain.

Console has aim assist though for most games. No?

Definitely this. I'm pretty damn good at destiny because of it.
I'm about to jump back into fallout again also because I'm building a PC.

That's scary. Glad it was short.

The weirdest part for me after my son was born was we had a name picked out for a while, felt him bump and move around for months, but then we I actually saw him it took me a bit to realize that was the same child. That sounds bizarre, but I guess it's when you hear someone's voice and make a mental image about how they look, but then you finally meet them and it's completely off. And it wasn't a bad thing, but I remember staring at him for long periods of time thinking "I wasn't expecting this at all, but you're even more incredible than I imagined". Enjoy it, and get sleep when you can.
