you can find them easily, could last fall too. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend.

A new one is coming out next year, im just going to wait.

Doubtful, new iterations of the PS4 didn’t come out until 2 years 10 months. If we use the same timeline that would be September 2023. I know they are working on the design right now, but it takes some time. Not just for the design but also for those parts to get to the correct price points.

Latest intel points to 2024 for the PS5 and Late 2021 for wide availability of the PS5 which is fine for me since I don't want a PS5 until the new Gran Turismo is released.

The talk at the beginning of May is that a hardware revision was underway and could be in production in about 12-18 months. The changes will only be internal and help Sony with production cost. It may also offer some performance boost.

From PC Mag
quote:

There's not much detail on what we can expect beyond a new version of the AMD Zen 2 processor manufactured using a 6nm process. The chip used in all PS5 consoles today is a 7nm part, so the move to 6nm should bring with it a small performance gain/power saving. It's also thought to include some further customization, although it will still have to remain fully compatible with the existing chip.

So speculation? With chip shortages and it still in the development phase you can hope for early 2023 at the best, most likely holidays 2023 or early 2024.

If you want a PS5 in the next two years you’re buying the current model.

Slow your roll, that isn't the case here at all. Very good chance there is a new PS5 next fall.

6nm chips are cheaper and easier to make with better yields. They'll switch asap from the 7nm shortage disaster. They only need about 6 months once it's ready. Price cutting + more supply is paramount.

According to a report on DigiTimes, Sony's manufacturing partners are preparing to start production of a redesigned PlayStation 5 model in about a year from now. The new model is expected to be cheaper to build, which will enable the company to cut the price of its latest console, which is in line with typical strategy to cut a console's price after two years on the market.

Best case late spring/summer. Likely fall holiday season 2023. Could surprise late next year it fits the timeline. A year from now to start production obviously means spring 2022, they need about 6 month lead time, so could for sure hit holiday next year and that is a strong rumor too.

Hard to guess since fairly unprecedented with covid shortages.

Its coming from Sony and TSMC manufacturing. There is actually 2 revisions in development. One is the just the internal revision that is slated for 2022 and the other is the slim slated for 2023. The chip shortage could of course effect this but a quick internal revision is not unheard of. The Xbox 360 underwent in internal hardware changes and had them on the shelves less than 2 years after launch due to RRoD.

There’s a guy on Twitter named Matt Swider or something close to that. Follow him, and turn on alerts for his tweets. He tweets out when stores release stock and you can follow the link to try and buy one. Took me 2 weeks of following him to land one.

Do you live in louisiana? I'm thinking about selling mine. Nothing wrong with it I just don't play it like I thought I was going to.
