You can map food items to your d pad so you just press up or down to heal.

Getting the sun/night health perk AND the "eating food gives health for 20 min" perk has been a game changer.
I keep putting off the blood baron quest to do some of the side ones. This game is just way too easy to sink time in. Controls can make me laugh a good bit but it's not the worst thing.

I had zero problem with controls. Just map out your potions and healing. Not sure what issues you could have with the controls.

The moving around controls are very loose. Geralt often walks around on his own without even touching the controller.

I had the same feeling as you, but there numerous people on this board who say it made the game unplayable

I'm not exactly dexterous and had zero issues. Those folks should probably be applying for disability.

I thought the controls were fantastic. There was a learning curve getting used to them as they were a little different than a lot of games, but once you got it down and learned the fighting mechanics, they were incredibly fluid and intuitive.

They were dramatically improved over Witcher 2. Those were unplayable.

I get what you’re saying. Geralt can feel a little too autonomous sometimes, and getting him to go exactly where you need him to is sometimes hilariously frustrating. By no means game breaking though.
On the other hand, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve yelled “No Roach, the other way, dumbass!”

Perfect way to describe it. It's not a big issue. I am NOT talking about mapping the potions. It just made me laugh at the looseness of it at the start (roach being a dingus. Geralt walking too far to loot something).
ETA: The post above this one describes what I am talking about perfectly. More amusing than anything else.

Roach is constantly high. Only explanation for his movement.

Is it worth it to hold on to your contract trophies or find one you like and sell the rest? It says they’re worth up to 300 crowns, but merchants rarely offer me more than 50. Some ol’ bullshite lol

Never finished this game, put in a lot of time but still a long way to go, it has been a long time since i picked it up. Should i just start over or watch a youtube video to try to refresh my memory?

I stored them all in my chest. Money won't be a problem for you for long. I kept them in case I needed one to help with a specific problem but I doubt I ever really needed any of them.
re: Tips for a Witcher 3 noob?Posted by Brosef Stalin on 6/27/19 at 3:41 pm to gulfcoasttiger5
They all give you some perk like extra xp or gold or something like that. Keep one with the perk you like. I always store the extra in my chest because I like the idea of having a bunch of monster head trophies. I wish you could display them somehow.

There is a merchant in Novigrad that pays more for trophies than anyone else IIRC

Ok I'm glad I wasn't the only one to do this.

Pretty sure I have every one I ever killed in my chest.
I wish you could hang them in your blood and wine cabin like you can swords and armor.

I’m jealous. Best game ever made.
Be patient with it. It took about 10-15 hours for it to really suck me in, but once it does you’ll be hooked. I played on normal the whole time and it was almost to easy, but I was more in it for the story than the challenge. I didn’t mess with Gwent at all until the end then I went back and did all the challenges and it worked out well. Take your time, do all the side quests, and enjoy the hell out of it
Funny this thread popped up last week considering I finally just bought the game last week too. Seems like it definitely requires patience. Have not picked up on the Gwent thing yet, but have tried to do all the side quests I come upon. Could definitely use a steady dose of adderrall like I had in college to help me get into the game.
When I turn it on if it doesnt suck me in during the first 10 minutes I turn it off and just wait til next time to wait to be more drawn. I feel its pointless to play and not have the attention span to follow the story and quest otherwise Im just skipping through everything and not picking up anything.

Do you have any female co-workers around aged 20-30? Yes? Ask them because they have it.
