I know this has been out a while, but after a mountain bike wreck that has put me on the shelf for a while, I have finally had the time to game a little. I think the graphics and force/combat is great, but I hate the levels save maybe the Wookie planet..I think the game has a little too much jumping and climbing also.. Does every planet have to be like the Grand Canyon..

The last few Star Wars game I have played always leave me disappointed(usually in the level designs) except for maybe Battlefront.. I remember an old PlayStation one game based on the Phantom Menace that mixed Role playing and fighting well... I’m sure the PC may have a Star Wars game like that covered but the consoles don’t to my knowledge..

Anyway, my 2 cents

Best SW game in a long time. Very, very fun combat and story.

Map designs leave a bit to be desired. Exploration of said maps leaves a bit to be desired.

it's a good, but safe game. mechanics, production quality, and presentation were all quality. story was sound.

biggest issue is the lack of rewarding exploration and the loathsome backtracking. working through previously explored worlds to pick up all those trash collectibles with that shitass map was an awful experience for me. you'll climb and jump and swim to the edge of a planet to find a chest, only to be given an ugly arse poncho or cartoonish ship color. all the collectibles sucked arse lmao.

there should've been some kind of meditation point warping after finishing a planet. everything felt padded and disrespectful of the player's time. add warping, better collectibles/incentive to explore, and more enemy variety, and the sequel could be great

Yes.

So I lost my save file about 35% through. I enjoyed the story-line but I found the game to be really repetitive and it kinda started pissing me off. I hate that I lost that file but also kinda glad.

They copied a lot from From Soft. That's not a bad thing, it was a good game. The worst part is backtracking because they didn't put in fast travel, for some reason.

My dad is a huge Star Wars fan and recently retired and bought a gaming computer. He struggles with things in games that I take for granted like moving a character and aiming independently with a mouse and keyboard. He tried playing portal 2 and it was too much for him but he's gone down the rabbit hole pretty good with No Man Sky.

How difficult/mechanical would you say this game is?

It's not overly difficult. You have different skill trees to play to your style if you want. As for the combat, it varies depending on the difficulty you've chosen. It's most similar to Sekiro from From Soft, but not nearly as difficult. I don't think the mechanics in the game will overwhelm.

if Im not interested in collectibles and just want to plow through it once, will I have to go through a lot of backtracking....is it mostly optional?

It's optional. You do get nice things though, health and upgrades that'll make the game easier. I only did a bit of backtracking and I played on Hard without much trouble.

btw if anyone is roughly 35% the way through the game with all(if not then at least most) of the available collectibles send me that save file.

Last thing I remember is trying to figure out the swinging wall.

Hated it. Bored the hell out of me. Quit after a few hours and haven't looked back.

Star Wars games shouldn't be walking/jumping simulators with a little combat sprinkled in.

I got bored with this game after a little bit. It’s kind of repetitive and the worlds were not that interesting.

It's the best Star Wars game since Battlefront II (the original) and that game came out 15 years ago.

The platforming aspect is super stressful. This game gives me crazy anxiety for some reason. I’m not a huge fan of platformers, so I went in thinking the game was going to be more combat oriented only to find out it was 80% platforming and was very disappointed.
