This is like deja vu with Star Wars
This unlike TLJ didn’t force an agenda IMO. The story was just stupid.

Right, no female in a post apocalyptic world would be the size of that character.
I'm sure she'd need steroids to reach that level even today but
*****minor spoilers*****
The group she's with has a base in what appeared to be a professional sports team stadium, which included a giant arse gym. You walk by it and all of the equipment is still functioning.

i'm so conflicted on this game the more i play. as much as i want to hate the second half, ND put in way more effort from what i can tell into the second part of the game. which sucks, why not flesh out the first half instead of just, "I want to kill everyone!"

I’m a couple hours in, just opened the gate in Seattle. I think everything save for the writing has been great so far. It’s not just the major story beats that are falling short, but the dialogue and passive flavor conversation just don’t work as well as they did in the first. I’m definitely having fun though

I agree with this sentiment. I started at the Seattle gates and got to the end of the "Tunnels" section. I've been enjoying it...I'm glad I played Resident Evil 2 right before this. Love the sounds/music in the headphones at night while playing this.

Unfortunately I don't play TLoU for its gameplay and graphics. I play for the above mentioned and expected it to be just as good as the first if not better. Unfortunately I..as well as many other...set their expectations too high.

Far too early for that

Did you upgrade your dilator yet?
Just found the crafting manual for it, I need to get to a workbench now. Going to need a lot of parts to get it big enough for Abby

I honestly thought it would be tough to top the recent God of War duo team. I liked the banter between Kratos/son/the Head.
I think what saved me for this game (so far) was seeing the melting and just going into it worried about how I felt while I'm actually playing the game (not watching the movie parts). That part has been fun. Things do seem a bit less responsive than I would like but the conflicts can be pretty intense.

That’s fair, I think that’s the reason most of us play. There are some pretty iterative gameplay aspects though
I’m working through a section now that’s kinda like the big levels from Metro Exodus - semi-open sandbox with several points of interest. You find a note revealing a secret item cache somewhere. You venture over to it, loot it, then find another note detailing a plan for a convoy attack. Travel to the convoy attack area and loot the convoy trucks. Stuff like that is cool. Not required, but allows you to earn some extra supplies/resources while building the world in an organic way. I’m also enjoying the increased verticality.

I’m with you, the controls don’t feel as tight as before. I’ve had a couple of instances of “Ellie wtf are you doing, pls stop”
There are also some hit detection issues when Dina is fighting or grabbed by an enemy. I’ll run up with a machete and swing and Ellie will just completely whiff. It’s happened 2 or 3 times
Also, lots and lots of “squeeze through” or “hold triangle” hidden loading screens. Can’t wait for next gen consoles where those won’t be necessary for devs to put in

There were so many of these, I guess with all the talk of them going away I was way more aware of them, kinda annoying, but whatever.
That section you referred to was honestly one of my favorite points, it gave you some character back story without forcing anything while you were exploring... Apparently I missed some of the optional locations so I'm gonna run NG+ at some point to search out the rest of them

spoilers
finished it last night. took about 25 hours over the weekend/past couple days. i love the tense stealth-to-loud gameplay. somethin about trying to get thru the scenarios with the resources at hand makes it feel more challenging and i appreciate that about it. 6 dudes with flashlights communicating against you while you have 3 bullets, an arrow, and a brick? shite just does it for me. beautiful game. lighting, effects, wounds. just really pretty all around.
i found myself noticing ellies grit more and more as the game went on. she started to hate. in the beginning youd stealth kill a guy and she would grimace while she did it, but towards the end she started talking shite and goading npcs while she killed them.
the SJW shite with the scar kid was weird, i dont mind the lesbos, and they frickin bamboozled me with joel dying and not dina. i was sure that the "revenge" aspect was gonna be dina getting killed/raped or something and not joel but i didnt read any leaks. the games not nearly as shitty as the user reviews would have you believe but thats just me. games like battlefield v including women soldiers pisses me off more than lesbo stuff in my stealth brutality games but to each their own i guess.

Careful I got hated on for saying the same from those that didn't play the game. It's sad they missed out on a very good game.

Fwiw, tried to return the game today at Gamestop. Was told they aren't refunding TLOU2.
I thought it was a touch odd. Going to surf around, see if that is universal. . .

Nobody was mad about lesbians, fwiw.
Life is Strange is damn near 100% lesbians, yet one of the best user-reviewed games in history
