Eh, I just find them equally unbelievable at this particular moment. I'm willing to review my thoughts on the player reviews based on opinions here. I don't see anything changing my mind that the critic reviews are useless.

Doesn't matter to me one way or another. I'm not spending a dime on it today, and if the folks here back up what the player reviews are, I never will.

I am never a huge fan of people shoehorning existing characters into completely alien personalities to fit a game. If this is the story they wanted to tell, they should have had all new characters. Not warp existing ones.

Shame, too, considering how amazing the first game was and I was at least under the impression that the graphics were gorgeous. Damned shame if they squandered all that good will.

Well... at least we'll still have CD Projeckt Red

We’re all smart enough to read a review and tell if it is spam or not. Hard to come away with any impression other than it is trash top to bottom with really good graphics (but not as good as advertised)

Yeah, right now I'm just going to watch MK Ice and Fire's play through. He does it 20-30 minute chunks, so it's a bit easier to step away if I get bored or whatnot.

The scenery looks good, but the characters look pretty much the same detail-wise (like you're saying). Honestly, they're no better than Witcher 3 (and I might even say a bit worse, considering you had actual color in that game). Considering W3's age, that's not something that should be the case on a game released in 2020.

People get invested in these characters. That's normal and has been around a LONG time (when Sherlock Holmes was killed off by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, his fans wrote him a TON of letters complaining).

I mean I am pretty annoyed with it as a huge fan of the original. I have not bought 2.

I have said this so many times but you just can't hold on to a Studios Name as some proof of quality. These Studios have so much turnover.

At least he died at the hands of Moriarty at the end of a whole book, and Moriarty dies with him. Not killed 1/3 of the way through and Holmes takes over the rest of the book.
