I'm not sure if you're saying this in a positive or negative way. The elite MMOs are usually really, really good with launches these days, but even they have massive issues like this after big content patches and almost always during an expansion release. They're also extremely good at cleaning up the mess, too, which a lot of guys who haven't worked in MMOs or shipped major content patches have little to no experience in. This game was made by a bunch of smaller studios with little experience with anything like this, and they simply don't have the chops to handle it half as well.

I'm okay with the server issues. It seems some games have them at launch and it really isn't surprising. I remember how much of a clusterfrick GTAO was. I couldn't play online for a week almost.

I was able to get into a few matchmaking games last night. Had a good time in some big battle games. BTW, does it seem like less people talk during the games? Out of the three matches I played last night, only one had communication going on between teammates.

I also got a good ways through the CE campaign. Been over a decade since I've played. Still awesome. Attack on the Control Room is as great as it ever was.

Same. It got me killed multiple times. I may have to go on a regression style to get back to Halo 2 mode. Play some 4, drop down to 3, then play 2. Ease back into it

The gungoose mode is awesome. They really did a wonderful job with the anniversary maps. They look great.

Started downloading the update yesterday at 4. Didn't realize that the Xbone would jump between all the other downloads I queued after I was done with Halo. It's been all night and I'm only at 83%. It completed all of my app downloads at some point and somehow has downloaded 33% of Call of Duty. This sucks.

Let's put this into perspective real quick. 343 released not just one game, but essentially 4 plus a BETA. 4 campaigns (6 if we want to get technical) and 4 multiplayers. They crammed almost 15 years worth of groundbreaking work onto 1 fricking disc or 60GB download. They've already come out and fully apologized and promised to work on resolving these issues ASAP. There's already a server side patch out. THE DAY AFTER frickING RELEASE.

You want to make comparisons:
- How about GTAO? For the first 48 hours of one of the most hyped games ever. You couldn't complete the first mission to even start the game.....
- How about every NBA 2K in the last 3 years. MyPark, ThePark, etc. That shite doesn't work period for the first week. Then they patch it once or twice in a year and 2K moves onto next year's title. Basically saying "frick you, see you next year....buy our product again, it'll work then" to their customer base.
- Battlefield 4? Even dear AJF, the battlefield knight amongst knight here, was frustrated. Terrible launch week for BF4.
- Destiny? LOL. You're right....they did have an Alpha and Beta. Servers still fricking sucked the first week. And wasn't even playable the first night.
- COD:AW? Haha. I don't even have to waste 60 bucks to tell you the servers were shite the first few days. That's a given with the COD series. I went thru it year after year after year until I said enough with Ghosts.
- AC: Unity? framerate issues at every turn and the game is buggy as shite from what is being said.

Need i go on?


What's the point here? You're wrong and like others have mentioned. Most AAA titles have trouble on launch day with any type of MP. Yes, it is a given nowadays launch day is going to suck. I do this server thing for a living. A damn good one at that. Take it from someone who's career is engineering and analyzing server performance data. It's not as easy as you think it is to plan for launches. It isn't a "let's just throw an extra 250 servers at it, just in case" simple solution. There's a lot more to it that I honestly don't think you have the intelligence to understand even if I explained it thoroughly and slowly with pictures.

So, how can i put this nicely. STFU you whining baby back bitch and be patient for a day or two. Give 343 a chance to rebound and clean this up. OR, do us all a favor: exit this thread for good, return Halo: MCC, and sell off your XBONE.

I know it's not perfect right now. but I've had a blast in the 6 hours I've put in on the game.

Played a little HALO: CE campagin, played some HALO: 2 anniversary co-op with Pevy, played some custom matches with 7 others from this board bouncing between Halo 2 & 3. It's incredible how much content they've fit into one title and the UI, fricking incredible. Dude needs to stop and smell the roses for a bit.

Have you heard Google is working on a computer that can write it's own code? I was thinking about it yesterday and came to the realization that that is the only way we're going to be able to move forward. Software has gotten too big for humans to efficiently get bug free. Coding Computers are the future.

Nothing was as bad as Battlefield 4.

You should still have matchmaking working day one, but no frick up is as bad as that game.

it was last night. well, not broken. if you have the patience..... you can get into a game. now if it's with a party or friends, chances not great at the moment.

according to someone's post on the last page, they have already put in a server side patch to help with matchmaking. should be in place this morning. So, someone will have to report back to see if it's better.

Yeah, I heard it was bad. Especially considering the expectations after BF3.

I just remember Homefront being unplayable for the first week until everyone just traded it in. Sucks b/c the MP on there was actually fun in the 1/50 times you actually got in a game
