Edited due to the subway. There is an entrance in dz01 for sure.

Haven't been able to finish beating the game for a while but got on today for two hours.
I started at 35000 dps. Now I'm at 55000. Then drops from the missions on hard are amazing. Three purple from each boss.

Got the game two nights ago and love it. Level 11 in 2 days but where are the higher end weapons? All in the DZ?

From 1-29 just equip whatever you like and find. Blues and greens. Leveling is quick..everything gets replaced fast.
At lvl 30 the High End stuff comes from the DZ and Challenge Missions and Crafting.
The dz is plenty fun at all levels.

Awesome thanks. I didn't know if I should switch up the difficulty on the missions to hard. I had heard a rumor that the bosses dropped more purple weapons on hard missions. But maybe that's just the DZ missions.

That is true at level 30. You can rerun old missions on Hard and enemies scale up and you get better stuff.
You can run missions while leveling on Hard if you want a challenge, but it's not recommended. Any drop you get might get replaced within an hour and xp is easy enough to come by out in the world.
Just focus on your aim, taking cover, and figure out what weapons, talents, skills you like. There will be plenty of time to obsess over loot at lvl 30

Sucks about the drops, but major props for finishing a challenge mission. I've tried the last two nights, and after many deaths decided it's too difficult for me right now

I got a yellow 325 holster from yesterday! I currently have a 712 purple holster!

Absolute minimum stats I'v seen suggested for challenging is
75k DPS/50k Health / 12K skill power
To get over that gear check, you probably need to run them on Hard to get purples and get your build going then start on challenging.

Well I'm at 110k/50ish/18k and running with three other people, all Lvl 30. The challenging mission guys wreck our shite, if they stayed back it would be ok but the rushing shotgun guys combined with long range shooters are very tough
