At launch, yeah, there were a ton of issues. But as they tweaked, it got much better. The optimization station, recalibration station, classified sets, specific activities for specific loot, changes to the dz. All good stuff.
Truth, but it took a very long time.

That is why you don’t buy games in the beginning unless they are fleshed out.

I though scruffy was morally opposed to games that launched in an incomplete state

I am, which is why I don’t recommend purchasing it unless it is in a completed state.

I haven’t heard that that is the case with TD2 yet.

Game will tank within 6 months. Just like the first one.

Yea. I'll buy at some point for 50-75% off with all the DLC after all the bugs have been patched and it's a complete game

I played today. Hopefully they catch the bugs because I had to play an entire mission with no sound effects except the music. I'm still not sold and with the near miss I had with Anthem I will be waiting for the reviews before considering this purchase.

The game is an RPG, so any "bullet sponge" arguments evaporate. I know its wrapped in a "real" - ish veneer, but this is not R6 or Ghost Recon. Sure TD1 had point where it was too much, but they remedied that and brought it over to TD2.

I played the private and open beta. They have done a great job of continuing what eventually made TD1 great from what I can tell.

This time, cover is much more important and the AI is much more aggressive, making tactics a more important part of your approach. Enemies will flank you if you ignore them. They will stay down if they know you are aiming at them, so switching targets is important. Armor does not regenerate without perks and "first aid" is not instant anymore. If you get caught in a bad position, you are probably either dead or very close to it, even in normal mode. Much more deliberate gameplay style is needed, at least in what they let us play in the beta.

Bullet sponges? Almost all enemies have a weak spot to exploit, and armored enemies can have their armor broken in certain areas - more strategy.

DC is not the best setting, but it is adequate and the lore they can pour into it is nice.

Overall I'm excited but I am going to wait until launch to buy after reading reviews and "state of the game" stuff.

Everybody keeps saying the setting is bad but i've enjoyed it. Some backdrops remind me of a few set pieces The Last of Us had.

I’m excited for this. Hoping it fufills my grind itch.

I won’t be buying at launch though. I’ll wait for reviews and reactions first.

I never said it was bad, I just think a better city could have been chosen, like not another east coast city maybe. The lore you can do with DC is great though and so far looks like they might make up for it. No spoilers but a certain mission hits on that lore very well.
